    Fluidmaster replacement button (older version?)

I have fluidmaster dual flusher. The original dual flusher button broke. See image 1. The shaft of it sat snugly into and within the top of the cistern and was tightened up from underneath. See image 2 where I've highlighted in black the tightening plastic screw device. I ordered another...

I need to replace the outer micro or mesh filter for my Dishwasher. See image. I have Model SGS43T72GB/06. Vent at top of oil tank

Thanks Exedon and Hugh. What an interesting story Hugh. I'm amazed to what lengths people go to to break the law. Fortunately my tank is small and hardly worth the bother for it to be drained. But even so thanks for the warning.

    Hard water heating element

Thanks Andy that's a good choice for a long term measure but I would have to drain the tank. So I am looking just for the thermostat with the Overheat Cut-Out Protection (as suggested by flameport) that the Screwfix one has. My image shows a Heatrae Superloy 800 which according to website is for...

    Hard water heating element

I've had oil central heating for 16 years. Not only has heating oil gone through the roof but there is no price cap like gas. I retained the immersion heating element within the tank during this this time. It still works and I'm thinking about using that instead of oil with the existing...

    Roof tile clips

I have Kent peg tiles on my roof. I inherited 16 tiles when I bought the property. I understand that to replace a broken one you push up adjacent tiles and remove the broken one and replace with another that have nibs on to catch on the baton. My spare tiles have no such nibs but do have two...

    Drilling a manhole cover

Thanks one and all. No problem in lifting it. It covers a pre cess pit inspection chamber. I just need to access it frequently to check to see if the cess pit needs clearing. Thanks Harry and Nige for drill advice.
