    Which indoor TV aerial

Hi. I live about 6 miles from a TV transmitting station. I always used an Outdoor Aerial. With my new TV I am about to get an Indoor Aerial. Some models are suitable up 10 miles from transmitter, various others range up to 100 miles. Would it make sense to get one up to say 40, 50 miles ...

    Cannot operate TV

Hello. I bought a Medion X14357 TV, with internet capability. I understand WPS does not offer a secure connection. It seems to me that in order to operate the TV, I have to connect to the internet first. The Manual gives no guidance on that. Can anyone advise me on how to get the TV to...

    Lintels

Yes. You are right. Drawings out of proportion. Door to be aligned with windows. I have an RSJ, 5.2M X 200mm X 130mm. Width of garage is 5.4M. Wall is 9 inches, (2 leaf walls) stretcher bond. So, from your reply I am guessing I could use the RSJ in a single span.

    Garage brick walls

Thank you. I am not knowledgeable in the trade, so I thought that mortar falling in between the leaves would bridge. Fairfaced are supposed to be 3° water ingress and Commons are 23°.

    Garage brick walls

Hello. I am building a garage using bricks. The walls will be nine inches thick. When ordering another batch of bricks I mistakenly ordered Commons, and the bricklayer started laying them until I checked that they were not Face Bricks. Can I build the nine inch wall with the Face Bricks on the...

    Silicone sealant

Hello. Sometime ago I used silicone to seal a bath panel which I think is of acrylic material. Bought from B & Q. Next time I needed to remove the panel I found the sealant was not effective. Water had got through to all the floor boards in that area. Do anyone know of a sealant which will...

    Fit washers: Victorian Mixer Tap

Yes , the head gear. I managed to use a Curved Jaw mole grip to undo both the H and C caps as shown in photo. Not much to grip and build up of limescale made it somewhat awkward/difficult.

    Fit washers: Victorian Mixer Tap

Hello. I need to fit new washers to this Victorian Bath Mixer tap. Pliers and similar tools will not work. The securing nuts, H Hot, C Cold, are of the knurled gear-like type. I guess there may be some type of tool to engage with the slots. Thanks for any advice.

I am pleased that I asked the forum. Always like to have second opinion. RSJ now out of the picture. Thank you.

    RSJ too short

Hello The overall width of a garage under construction is 5.40metres. I have a length of RSJ (lying unused) which is 5.20 metres long by 200 mm, by 130 mm. If I were to include brick piers in the walls would that be Okay ?. Thank you.

    Thermalite in Gable

Splendid. Many thanks for your recommendations. I will look at those.

    Thermalite in Gable

Yes. After I made my post I realised my error. What I meant is that I think thermalite blocks, if they can be rendered, require different rendering techniques than thermalite. But be lighter in the gable, and cheaper. Please let me know can thermalite be rendered ?.
