Use Mains Pressure to Test Vented Hot Water Tank?

Thanks all. Seems that it's not advisable to have the hot cylinder in line and put mains pressure through it. I'm not testing cylinder or storage tanks, they are largely unchanged. It's all the indirect cold and hot pipework under floor boards I wanted to test by just using pressure and small...

Use Mains Pressure to Test Vented Hot Water Tank?

Might be daft question.... Just done loads of changes to plumbing in property; relocating bath and sink etc. Had drained everything down. While I can do such stuff, I'm not overly confident. Rather than starting to fill loft storage tanks straight off, wanted to try and pressure test all...

Mitring and joining stair handrail - zipbolts?

P.S. Something just noticed - clamp ends of the zipbolt reqires a 25mm hole. Not sure of if that's wider than the flat face of the underside of handrail and therfore will protrude and edges of hole become visable ?!

How to Remove Horrendous Mould Stain Before Staining?

Ian. Thanks for the suggestion of Oxalic acid. Will give this a try :-) It's only these local areas of staining that I fear for - possibly ruining the rest of the appearance of the door once correctly sanded back, stained and protected. Cheers, Neil

Ikea Beech Worktop - Oiled But Wood Grain Stands Up

Foxhole. Yes, my initial thought. But customer assures me they didn't use, or wipe down, with any water at all. Told them white spirit only. Oddly, the Ikea oil says - on the tin - to clean off brushes with water. Also mentions it contains some water along with oils. Was wondering if this...

    Advertising For 1st Time - Suggestions\Experiances?

All. Cheers for advice - much appreciated :-) Probably harsh me saying Check-A-Trade doing "hard sell" - followed up a few times to get a "Yes" decision. In their defence, know 1 guy who gets good business - does electrical work in addition to what I do though. He's the only feed-back...
