Patch repair in ceiling - mesh tape needed or not?

Hi, I need to fix up this access hole from a recent electrical job I had done. I've got a bag of Gyproc EasiFill 60, but I was wondering if I also needed mesh tape to cover it first or for the size of the hole it is, will the EasiFill on its own be sufficient to patch it up? Thanks RW

Started laying my insualtion boards today with flexible adhesive, but didn't realise the mixture was way too sloppy until half the job was completed. However, the boards have set well with no 'bounce' underneath them. Also, the sloppy adhesive has dried hard so I'm assuming that's a good sign...
