Will I need to buy a replacement valve or cartridge to fix this dripping Abode mixer tap?

And are there better places than others to buy them to save money? I assume it's easy but I've not replaced one before. It's slowly but surely gotten worse, now around 20 drips worth of water fall at once, every couple of seconds. The hairband makes it a bit better.

Is it easy to replace this old type of window bracket?

We won't be able to afford to replace the windows for a long while yet. Just the little thing holding the 2 pieces together has gone. Anyone know what that's called? Not seen one sold before and seems like it may be a difficult bit to source, or more expensive than a bracket when including the...

Need to cover all fibre glass in used attic?

I've just floorboarded the main sections of an attic to be used as a spare room. Do I need to cover all exposed fibre glass in the shallow roofed sections where it won't be touched to avoid particles of it floating into the air and causing coughing?

How to drill a hole in a tricky-to-align place

I need to drill a hole with a centre where the edge of another hole is. How could I hold the drill in the right place or otherwise make this hole without the bit slipping towards the other hole? I need a 25mm hole with its centre at the back of the hole in the middle of the pictured triangle.

Can you cut an fairly accurate 45mm hole with a jigsaw?

Only got the one attempt so I wouldn't want to try it to find it's not possible to turn that tightly. There's already a 32mm hole where it needs to be.

Replacing a single brick with no experiece & least materials possible.

I need to fit a brick in a wall where there's one missing and don't want to buy a big bag of cement etc. to fit it if possible. Is there another good way of doing it? Silicone or something?

Attaching a toilet seat with mystery fittings

I was given a decent quality toilet seat as an upgrade for the flimsy plastic one I have at the moment. The gap between the attaching post holes on the seat is 155mm and the holes on my toilet are 170mm apart. I was told it would fit with the right attachments. What kind would work and what kind...

Is it ok to leave a very small amount of wallpaper glue on plaster before priming?

Is it ok to leave a small, smooth amount of wallpaper glue, seemingly perfectly level with the plaster to the eye and touch before priming with a dedicated primer? I can get it all off in little 3 by 3'' patches with hot, soapy, vinegary, bicarbonate of soda water but it takes a lot of hard...
