Shower door magnetic strip - removable?

This one might belong in' plumbing', or perhaps 'tiling'..but... I've put in a shower door that despite closing correctly, doesn't stay closed.. Presumably due to weak magnets in the strip.. Should be easy enough to change, but the strip on the frame doesn't appear to removable - are they...

Here's a stack of treated boards I'm using to clad my workshop... I've cut a 15 degree angle onto one end (they are going to be vertical, "board on board").. retreated cut end with preservative, and am now drying out so as I can stain them some silly shade the missus chose.... My question -...

    'board on board' cladding

I'm planning on cladding my newly built shed/workshop with 'board on board' cladding. I'm intending to fix 150mm x 20mm 'gravel board' verticallly, then covering the join with a 25mm batten. I'm wondering if I should leave a gap between the gravel boards, and if so how wide? 10mm maybe...

Skirting and trim, how should they meet?

I thought I was being pretty clever here... I routed a sheet of mdf and fixed to a stud wall to act as a built in head board.... Plasterboarded rest of wall, skimmed, then..... Stood there looking at it scratching my head.. Not so clever..... Needs architrave/trim to cover the mdf/plasterboard...

Shower on/off handle, what a crock!

Here's a concealed shower valve flow control handle... Manufactured badly! The screw in handle doesn't have enough protruding thread to make contact with the valve spindle.... I've established it's an M5 thread, but how would I remove the excess material so a thread cutter would cut the...

Evosta circulating pump, what's going on?

The manuals for these pumps are a bit baffling... I think this is showing an error code -, flashing twice - in the casting a blocked rotor -, but when I isolate the pump and remove central plug, nothing else comes out.... In their trouble shooting videos you can remove a part and see the...

Wall mounted spotlight with room for cables!

I thought I was being pretty clever when I pulled cable for a wall mounted spotlight to illuminate bathroom mirror - daisy chain from downlights...... I fixed a triangle of timber into corner of stud work so there was something solid behind plasterboard to attach spotlight to... With the cable...

    Building off a concrete slab

I've a double garage sized concrete slab to build off. As I far prefer working with wood my plan is.. Build 1. Drill into slab at every 600mm and chem-fix long bolt around edge of slab. 2. Lay 100mm concrete blocks on their flat around edge of slap, working as round the protruding bolts...

    Shower door silicone

This is more out or curiosity than anything else.... I've just put a fairly cheap glass shower door in... Flimsy but will do the job in an downstairs shower that's likely to see hardly any use.... I'm puzzled as to why the instructions state NOT to silicone around inside of frame... Any insights?

Any better options for this skirting?

I've got a couple of access hatches in a stud wall where the oil pipe enters house, and condensate leaves it.... I had to set them this low to ensure future access..... But now I've chopped the skirting around them it looks rubbish.... Will be a bit better painted in, but still rubbish! Any...
