Job done, 1/2 hour - screwdriver, shifter, 9mm socket and mate to press clutch pedal when bleeding. At last a job on a Renault that doesn't need special tools or fingers like E.T. Thanks again Paul for advice.

No I didn't - I can only see one open end - returns into header tank, don't know where it comes from, appears through ceiling above header tank, is this the open vent? Cheers, Iain.
