Is a powerflush just for the radiators or copper pipes too?

I want to have a new combination boiler installed. My copper pipes throughout the house appear sound but the radiators are old, rusty and the TRVs are shot. Basic white new radiators and TRVs come to a similar price as a powerflush. I don't know what the labour cost would be but I assume if I...

    Which cistern float valve?

My existing float valve is leaking. Either I try to get a new washer or I replace the whole thing which may be simpler. On one website BES.co.uk I think I can identify my valve as a piston type brass bottom entry, but there are a lot of choices Which one out of these 2 is considered...

Hi. the overflow from my toilet is dripping. The ball itself is at the right level but the valve it attaches to is dripping after the correct level is reached. I assume I need to replace a washer. There are a couple of large fittings on the valve but they do not budge with waterpump...

    Splits in electric grill element

Up until now I have only used the main cavity of the old oven that was here when I moved in. I used the grill section for the first time today and while it worked fine I noticed that there appears to be splits in the element. I find it too hard to start my petrol mower - any advice?

There's nothing wrong with it. From new I couldn't start it. When a guy tries, no problem, but I'm just not strong enough and don't pull the rope hard enough or correctly. Choke's fine etc, as I say others can start it just not me. Are there any tricks or ways to make starting easier????

Mixed sizes solid oak boards & do I remove existing floo

I’m a newbie at it but would like to fit European Solid oak 130mm x 18mm constructional strength boards direct to joists. The supplier sells them in packs of random lengths mixed from 300-1200mm and therefore will not all straddle the joists. What do you do in this instance? I have a mixture...

Quick question about cable (flex) sizes please

I searched this site and found this I assume you must never use too small a cable but my question is does it matter if you ever use too big a cable? For example can you use 2.5mm T&E on a lighting circuit assuming all fused properly? Thanks

Along a long run of coping stones the pointing/joints are shrinking away and a little bit crumbly. I intend to have the coping stones replaced next year but meanwhile there is a slight leak into the room below this terrace wall. How can I make an effective temporary repair to these joints...
