    G9 LED Strobe Effect

So follow up question... I don't want a bulb that only points light down like the Philips bulbs. Is there a good manufacturer that does LED bulbs that shine light all around?

    G9 LED Strobe Effect

Thanks for your thoughts. Dimmable light fitting is marketing, it's just direct wiring. Strobe effect is the slicing of the sine wave, I can only see it when there is fast movement... I can see it when my children run through the room! Agree that low quality bulbs is definitely a possibility...

Boiler help needed, I think I'm being taken for a ride :(

I feel for you on this, I hate these dispute situations that seem to come up all the time. I agree with what's been said that a system flush is completely disconnected from the ignition system. You could try to push them to guarantee that a system flush will fix the fault because you believe...

    G9 LED Strobe Effect

I've recently installed a couple of light fittings which take G9 bulbs... (http://www.darlighting.co.uk/sestina-5-light-g9-flush-decorative-rods-and-crystal-beads-ses5350.html). Instructions were in the box and bought the bulbs before opening the box... my error! The light fitting istself is...

    Car Seats

Does anyone know if you can get 3 children’s car seats on the back seat of a Mondeo Estate? I am soon to replace my car and would like to get a Mondeo but don’t want to be replacing it in two years time when I may have a third child. I really want to avoid getting an MPV (possibly an S-Max)...

    Concrete & Bay Windows

I’m currently levelling my front garden to start from scratch. Currently in front our bay windows we have a strip of concrete which is about 6 inches deep and about 2ft wide following the contour of the bay. Does anyone know what this concrete slab is for? Is it just to keep the garden...

    Windows & Door Recommendations

We've got 2 bays, 1 window and one front door (including glass around the sides and top) to do. Does anyone have any recommendations or warnings about the big window companies. Also, recommendations in or around Coventry would be useful!

Help! Engine cutting out! Mazda 6, 2.0 td, 2003

Interesting thanks, had rulled out electrics based on the fact that it is a diesel. Done the fuel filter now so will see if the problem comes up, no obvious damage to the filter seals though so that doesn't help!

    Summit Roofguard

I actually had a call from them the other day trying to sell me windows. When I said I wasn't interested they hung up on me, didn't have the courtesy to say 'sorry we've wasted your time' or even 'bye'!!! Exceptionally rude I would say!!! I will always stay well away from them.

Help! Engine cutting out! Mazda 6, 2.0 td, 2003

3 times in the past month the engine has cut off when applying power after changing from 2nd to 3rd, its only happened when the revs are low at the beginning of the journey. Each time I have tried to restart the engine where the car attempts to turn over but won’t start until I’ve tried 5 or so...

    Train Prices...

I made a discovery today. I have been buying monthly season tickets to travel to the office on the train but as I only work weekdays I don't use this season ticket at weekends or when I'm on leave etc. In england we [typically] work 227 days (thats 260 weekdays less 8 bank holidays and 25 days...

    Shed advise

Steve, did you ever get one? I followed the advice and picked one up for £350 (ukgardenbuildings) which includes delivery and installation for a non pressure treated T&G (throughout) shed. Being installed in a couple of weeks.

That looks like an excellent option, I'm seriously considering it. You say it is cheaper through agents, any idea whether I can get my hands on one through an agent?

    Wireless Media Connectivity

I'm looking for a cheap and tidy way of playing music from my laptop (windows media centre, itunes, spotify etc) through my stereo. I don't want to be limited to using itunes because I don't really like it and would ideally like something cheaper than an airport express. Any suggestions of...

    Shed advise

I'm about to buy a shed myself, I've already got a base for it (concrete slab/flagstones) but was thinking of getting this one... http://www.gardenbuildingsdirect.co.uk/Wooden-Sheds/BillyOh-Value-8-x-6-Tongue-and-Groove-Apex I'm pretty sure that the T&G ones will be more solid, I've...

Thanks for the replies. I bought myself a Vax V028 Rapide Powerjet Pro, haven't tried it out yet but won't bother with a steam cleaner!

    Carpet Cleaners...

I’m looking for the best way to clean my carpets. Mostly it is just cleaning spot stains off but it’d also be good if I can clean the whole carpet. I don’t want to hire a rug doctor as the costs long term will be more significant than buying something. I was thinking about getting one of...

    Summit Roofguard

I got quoted a good price from them but perhaps it's simply not worth it! A chap at work had some work done by them and I've read a couple of reviews around the place and I think that their once good reputation is failing somewhat now. Will shop around, maybe it's time to get the ladder out...
