Replacing Radiator - Union Nut Stuck

Yeah, trying to turn the nut down as you look at it, the same way as I turned the other union nut (tried the other way just the now as well  ). Will try and get some heat on the nut to free it up. Cheers :)

Replacing Radiator - Union Nut Stuck

Hi, Looking to replace a radiator which had a leak. I've closed the lockshield valve and the manual control valve and opened the bleed valve. I've manage to undo the union nut on the manual control valve side and drain the radiator but the lockshield side nut is not moving. I'm...

Monobloc flexible tap connectors - Over 300mm?

I had a look on there but couldn't see ones that screw onto my existing copper threaded pipe and go directly upto the the tap connection?

Monobloc flexible tap connectors - Over 300mm?

Need a flexible tap connector but having severe trouble finding the length that I need. They all seem to be 300mm. The kind shown in the link is what I'm after, but with a 12mm thread connection to the tap...

    Kitchen Taps - Flexible Connection

Washers inside and ptfe tape (useful stuff that!) around the threads done. Hot water pipe working great. Cold water pipe has 1 irritatingly small drip of water coming through, literally a tiny amount that takes about 10 minutes to collate and then drop. I've undone the connection and put...

    Kitchen Taps - Flexible Connection

Morning all. Recently the flexible connector to my tap was leaking. Disconected it all and say the tap was also corroded (was a cheap tap). Have purchased a new tap and new connectors but they are 300mm and not long enough (connector screws onto the hot/cold pipes and has a 12mm thread...

    Bathroom Suite Replacement

Yeah, apologies for that, was just trying to do a rough calc as to potential man hours to give me a basis of a figure to work with. Guess I wont know until I get a couple more quotes. If they're all the same then I guess that's the going rate and I'll need to stump up!

    New Cooker Hood

Evening all. Kitchen refit planned, the old extractor fan was plugged into a socket which was high up on the wall (hidden by the cabinets). The new cooker hood has arrived and is not fitted a plug, to be honest, the socket location would mean that any plug is visible so I'd rather not go...

    Bathroom Suite Replacement

:) Hmmm, you've got me there. Still don't like the prospect of a potential rip-off though!

    Bathroom Suite Replacement

Thanks. My initial reaction was that the price was a bit high (can't take too long for an experienced plumber to swap in a new suite!). Hard to see it being more than ~20 hours work to be honest, unless of course I'm completely underestimating the complexity of it!! Will shop around some more.

    Bathroom Suite Replacement

Evening everyone. I have a replacement bathroom suite purchased (Bath, Pedestal Sink and Toilet) which is like for like with my current suite. Will also be having a towel radiator (I will be supplying) installed in place of the current radiator and replace the electric shower (I will be...

    Kitchen Mixer Tap - Removal

Thanks, I had undone them before but didn't see much give in them so figured that I'd need to undo the impossible to reach ones. Undone the other ones again just now and the pipes came away no problem! That's enough for one night!! :)

    Kitchen Mixer Tap - Removal

Replacing the sink in the kitchen together with the taps (and the whole kitchen but that's by the by!). Anyway, I can see the bolts that are connecting the hot & cold feeds to the mixer tap but the hole underneath is about 4cm x 3cm and I'm completely at a loss as to how to get them undone...

    Kitchen Wall-Light

I was looking to tile over where the light currently sits so a blank plate wouldn't work. Looks like it's either remove it or or disconnect both ends like you say. I'll try to take some photos tonight and post them up. Thanks for your help.

    Kitchen Wall-Light

Afternoon everyone. Currently redoing my kitchen and there is a wall lamp (like the top of a cheap desk light) attached to the wall at about head head. Really want this to go and wonder what would be required with the cabling? The light currently has it's own switch (3 switches for...

Moving Washing Machine - Waste Pipe

Yeah, I'm planning on running a longer bit of waste hose around the walls and into the current waste inlet under the sink. Would there be an issue if the waste pipe travelled upward at any point? Or as it's pumped would that be ok? Length of pipe is likely to be around 5m.

Moving Washing Machine - Waste Pipe

Posted this in the appliance Forum but think it may be more applicable here: As part of a kitchen refit, I'm planning on moving the washing machine from it's posistion beside the sink to the opposite wall. The waste inlet is currently right under the sink so I wonder if anyone can advise...

Moving Washing Machine - Waste Pipe

As part of a kitchen refit, I'm planning on moving the washing machine from it's posistion beside the sink to the opposite wall. The waste inlet is current;y right beside the sink so I wonder if anyone can advise if it's as simple as running an extended waste pipe round the edge of the walls...
