Hi, anyone got a good solution for fixing into a wall double lined with two layers of plasterboard? I tried the metal screw type fixings that I usually use fine in a single skin and they failed. Any help greatly appreciated.

That's a bit like saying grey is a shade of black. The difference is subtle I grant you but that is what design is about to me. YMMV.

Aha. That is the sort of pad I was thinking of. Do you reckon that is better than a fixed extension bar? I guess the pad would not stop the ladder sliding sideways.

White is a bit stark IMO. I would go with an off white. I have used and liked Dulux Almond White. Also Leyland Parchment mixed 1 to 4 into white is very calming. HTH
