Fresh paint cracking at ceiling/wall joint

I managed to overcome this using Polycell crack-free ceiling paint. It’s an expensive paint but so far hasn’t cracked and hopefully doesn’t go on to do so just thought I’d update the thread for anyone who may have a similar problem in the future.

Fresh paint cracking at ceiling/wall joint

Thank you for the prompt reply. I agree but am really confident it hasn’t. I scraped away or sanded old paint and it look absolutely fine before I painted it. I did use some easi fill in places which I omitted in my earlier post. I believe I used some caulk when it was done originally as it...

Fresh paint cracking at ceiling/wall joint

Hi all, Would anyone have any ideas as to why the paint at my ceiling/wall joint is cracking? I had the room plastered years ago which was done with scrim tape and the paint cracked then. I’ve scraped off/sanded back the old paint and applied a fresh coat and it’s cracked again whilst drying...

Is 15mm Sufficient for Flow and Return

Spoke to Worcester technical who said that 15mm is ok for what I have. I think next time I'll be clearer about what pipes are being used etc but for now I am happy. I appreciate everyone's input :-)

Is 15mm Sufficient for Flow and Return

I suspect he's used 15mm pipe to increase his profit margins but now I have the difficult job of challenging him over a subject I know little about!

Is 15mm Sufficient for Flow and Return

I feared someone might say that! Is there anything I can challenge him with?

Is 15mm Sufficient for Flow and Return

Hi, I'm in the process of having my house totally re-plumbed and with the exception of the first 1 -2 meters of pipe from the boiler, the plumber has used 15mm pipe for the entire flow and return. The plumber tells me the size is irrelevant now the systems are pressurized. Is this true or...

    Vapour Barrier/Control Layer

That was one option, I didn't know if it had to be breathable or not?

    Vapour Barrier/Control Layer

The picture below is an external cavity wall within my kitchen that I have timber framed on the inside. The voids are now filled with rigid insulation and will be covered with OSB and then plasterboard. From memory I need some sort of vapour barrier/control layer between the studwork and...

Dry Lining and Electrical Cables and Pipes

I'm planning on dry a wall or two and going to first fix some studs to the wall. I would then like to run some cables and pipe work between the studs. I would also like to insulate between the studs with a product like Jablite or Cellotex etc before covering with plasterboard. So my...

    Help with basic drainage

Many thanks for your reply Richard, some great advice there already. The drain I have been digging is just for my garage roof and thinking about it there is an inspection hatch nearby which I shall lift and see where things are coming from. There are no smells either. The house which was...

    Help with basic drainage

I had to replace the downpipe from my garage roof but the original ran below the patio. Wanting a tidy job, I decided to remove a patio slab and join below the ground but have ran into difficulty! I followed the pipe to the bottom where it went into this: I noticed the side was...
