Stair landing width in old house

If I am reading this correctly: The origional landing leads off to the right (711mm)? The landing to the left is new (711mm)? It states in part K that the landing should be as wide as the minimum flight of the stair, obviously this is not the case with your project. It really depends...

Confused! Who should do drawings for single storey extension

I would approach an Architectural Technician to do the drawings as a hobble, for what you're asking you would be charged around £300-£500, dont be afraid of asking someone to do it as a hobble as most people I know moonlight (Wages arent what they used to be in Architecture)

Concrete and screed - in sections?

As I said earlier I am no expert when it comes to concrete or screeds but this site below is very informative and should give you the answer you require. http://www.homeinstitute.com/pouring-concrete.htm Also with the double DPM answer, I have heard of this being done but any large...

    Cellar floor problem

Good to know youve had the walls done, maybe expensive but is the best solution. In respect to the gap, it depends on how much DPM is left, if they have dressed it just passed the screed edge you will need to attach a further piece of DPM to the already laid and seal it using a double sided...

    Cellar floor problem

This sounds like a real botch of a job, you will also need to treat the walls, there is no point in carrying out any work untill this is done as the damp problem is always going to reoccur.

Raising a floor - kingspan correct order etc

Personally I would use the Celotex TB range, the thickness isnt really an issue as you are improving a situation so you are not bound to and certain 'U' values etc, plus timber is standard when shuttering for the screed. If your not sure about the construction of the existing slab then for...

    Brick Wall Cost

Depends on the type of brick firstly, Coping? Piers? How deep the foundations are going to be? Will you be using brick below ground level or standard block? I would also not think about going single skin for a 4ft wall

Concrete and screed - in sections?

Not sure how to answer the pouring stages but for the size of the bay it would be easier to pour in one. In respect to the DPM, it all depends on where your insulation lies? If between the slab and the screed then the DPM can be installed under the isulation, however; if installed under...

    Dampcourse

Im not sure why this wasnt installed during construction of the garage??? Under the garage slab, do you have a Visqueen (or similar) DPM installed and if yes does this run up the side of your slab (house side)? If yes to the above, you will probably be better off tanking (painting) the two...

    Damp Forming To Shower Rooms

Good Morning, Firstly I work in Architecture so have quite a broad knowledge of construction, but I have a major issue in the new property I have moved into. I have a walk in shower room where two of the walls are toughened glass fixed back to moisture resistant plasterboard (d&d), the...
