We back up to a paddock. The owner had a local farmer in to cut the grass late last year but didn't rake it up. Today he has pegged 1 meter wide black plastic over the paddock in 3 seemingly random strips. Any ideas why? I know, I could just ask him but I rarely see him. Cheers

Thank you for the advice 4xpaws. The pipe from the cylinder is a 15mm pipe. So I guess that doesn't help. As an experiment I will try removing the basin pump. It's quite easy to adjust the pipe work to bypass it. If that doesn't work I think your last idea is the best and give them both...
