    Odd noise from dryer

That sounds very likely to be the cause - especially the intermittent nature. I'll do some investigation and report back. Thanks for the advice, much appreciated!

    Odd noise from dryer

Hi, I've got a Beko DPU8360W Condensing dryer that is making a strange noise. Anyone any idea what it might be from listening to the attached clip? The noise is happening at the start and then again at 11 seconds in. It's an intermittent issue - it started a few months ago - when it happens...

Tile adhesive & Mapei grout query

I haven't logged in a while! Shower still functioning without any leaks. I've probably jinxed it now :D

Tile adhesive & Mapei grout query

Small update in case it's of use to anyone spotting this thread in the future. The BAL Max-Flex Tile Adhesive worked a treat. However buried in the instructions on the BAL Micromax2 Grout it says "Do not use shower for at least 2 weeks after completion of grouting". This was a deal breaker...

    Acid stained granite worktop

Something similar to this polishing powder might work? Lots of elbow grease required if polishing by hand, so buffing pads that attach to a drill are advised

Tile adhesive & Mapei grout query

I'm re-grouting the floor on the wet room as the grout had cracked and water was getting through especially around the drain area. Would someone be able to advise on a suitable adhesive or cement to use to re-fix a few 1" marble mosaic tiles in a wet room. I was thinking that maybe OB1...

Hive Thermostat - using the Hot Water circuit

Agreed that it's a bit hacky but I don't really want to buy another Hive thermostat + receiver when the functionality already exists in the Dual channel version of what I have already.

Hive Thermostat - using the Hot Water circuit

Umm, I'm slightly confused... Before I put in a Hive, I had a EPH timer. Wires #1, #2, #5 (downstairs heating channel) and #7 (upstairs heating channel) were the only ones used. After putting in a Hive Single channel receiver, I had connected EPH #5 to Hive #3. I can now control my...

Hive Thermostat - using the Hot Water circuit

Yes, that is exactly what I was thinking. Not ideal (or standard practice) to not have thermostatic control, but since the 30 min or 60 min boost is used it won't be a problem.

Hive Thermostat - using the Hot Water circuit

I have a Greenstar 36CDi combi boiler with a Hive (single channel) thermostat. There are two circuits, downstairs & upstairs - the Hive controls downstairs and it works correctly. We don't use the heating that much upstairs, maybe boost it for 30 mins every now and then. I presume I could...

Combi boiler + pump + shower setup question

Plumber is planning on also pumping the cold feed to the shower. So the hot and cold feed pressures to the shower will be balanced (at 2 bar)

Combi boiler + pump + shower setup question

Could someone offer some advice as to what size cold water tank I'd need if I was using a shower such as this - say the shower runs at 10 litres per minute. Is there a rule of thumb for sizing the cold water tank based on that flow rate? Thanks
