Hi All
Today I replaced like for like x2 garden wall lights.
I opened the lights breaker and confirmed by MM no 240v at the light fitting.
Light fitting had twin live, twin neutral and single earth to a choc block.
I disconnected everything as the original choc block was dirty so replaced with...
My son has MS Flight Simulator Deluxe and has successfully loaded the software and has spent many hours enjoying the simulator.
I have noticed recently that he has to regularly re-load all the CDs to run the simulator.

I have uploaded family photos to I-Cloud and am trying to set up a Slideshow.
Unfortunately the library does not let me rearrange the position of the photos to enable the slideshow to run in the order I want!
Any thoughts on how to move the photos about? They seem to be frozen and will not...
Im in the process of renewing my house insurance and all providers are now asking if I have any trees within 5m of my property.
My tree trunk is 10m away, but its canopy encroaches within the 5m.
Is it safe to assume the insurers are referring to the trunk rather than canopy?
Cheers

Hi all.
I'm looking to move my combi from an upstairs room to a downstairs kitchen.
Upstairs, the vent goes vertical through the roof.
Downstairs the vent will be positioned through a side wall.
When booking a suitable combi man to move the boiler, would he fix the roof?
Or do I also need to...
I have a chimney which is leaking water causing a damp patch in a bedroom.
A roofer has suggested some flashing needs repairing, but the brickwork has a lot of pointing missing.
He has offered to fix the flashing but doesn't do pointing.
Is that the norm of all roofers? I'm happy to mix it...
Hi All,
A metal framed glass door has been problematic to lock as the weather gets colder.
Today's first frost is now preventing us from locking the door.
When the door is open, the mechanism will close/lock correctly, but when closed it is jamming on something.
Would it be the door or the frame...

A ship's safety system does not 'stop' the ship during bad weather!!!
To avoid severe rolling, it needs to continue to make headway either with or against the swell.
There is something else to this story as there must have been a major...

Hi all,
My house outside walls are rendered and were painted about 10yrs ago.
They are now looking very dirty and I have been offered a chemical soft wash to clean it.
Are there any issues I should be wary of?
Are the chemicals likely to stain my mahogany PVC window frames?
Would just a simple...
I'm configuring a new build desktop PC.
It will have a 1TB SSD as primary storage, with an option for additional HDD storage.
Why both?

Hi All,
I currently have a laptop with Windows 10, but looking to replace it with a self build desktop.
Rather than purchasing a new Windows 10, is there any way of transferring it from my laptop?
The laptop came with it pre-installed.

I am currently using Norton 360 for my home/family PC but my son is now looking to buy his own gaming PC.
Is the 'Nortons for Gamers' any significant benefit over the standard Norton 360?

Hi All,
My daughter has a 2017 Ford Galaxy Titanium 2.0 diesel Mk3(?) and suffered a flat battery recently.
Previously, she was experiencing problems with the touchscreen as it would not power up. A workaround by pressing 2 buttons on the panel would then power it up.
Yesterday, the car...

Hi All,
My missus drove into a gate post last month and damaged the car's paintwork. Only a small area was damaged so considered a private repair without claiming insurance. Unfortunately the damage was across the seam of two panels. That along with the paintwork being Pearlescent White, a...
