Hi All.,
Am considering a couple of days in London without the hassle/expense of a central hotel.
Looking for a hotel near the M25/M4 with a London Underground link.
Any recommendations?
Cheers
Doug

Uxbridge would be convenient. Further to the north Amersham, more rural and on the edge of the Chilterns, probably a few nice pubs in the old part of town.
We're in Herts beginning of August and thinking about a day in London. A mate told me about the 'clipper boats' operating on the Thames. They run between Putney and Dagenham (I think), stopping at various places, Greenwich etc, you can get off anywhere and jump back on another when you're ready, all day ticket about 20 quid.

Ditto for uxbridge.
Metropolitan line station.
Premier inn, so you know what you're getting, with free parking.

London underground map is a design masterpiece, designed to be simple to read and use. The clever bit is that the stations on the map bear no relation to their actual location.

There are quite a few anomalies such us to get from, for example, station A to station D, on the map you have two stops in between, stations B & C. But if you go up the escalator and walk out the entrance to station A, you can see station B just up the road.

Don’t assume central London is out of your reach there are plenty of good travel lodges. In London. Just avoid the south and east London ones.

You’ll find reasonable rates in the city
