    Shower issues

The 50A MCB you have just fitted is too large for the 6mm² cable you have feeding your shower.

    Earthing and bonding question.

Pipe goes under ground and the first place I can see it appear is behind the floor mounted boiler so in theory I guess that is where it enters the property.

I will test oil pipe tomorrow when I return to connect up just to ensure it is connected as I assume it is.

    Earthing and bonding question.

SWA is 6mm² and 3 core so yes I can use armour and 3rd core as you suggest. Thanks for your help EFLI, that makes perfect sense now. I was beginning to doubt myself earlier hence my question as I have never come across anything like this before.

    Earthing and bonding question.

Thats where I was getting confused. Oil pipe runs from out building to house and is bonded as it enters the boiler in the property with 10mm² to MET. No water pipe between house and outbuilding, no other extraneous conductive parts in the outbuilding.

    Earthing and bonding question.

Thanks for the reply EFLI, yes I am planning on TT ing it at the outbuilding but not sure whether I should bond the tank in the outbuilding as in theory it is already bonded to the MET in the main property.

    Earthing and bonding question.

I am currently running a new circuit to an outbuilding in SWA. Incoming supply to property is TNCS and I was going to TT the outbuilding. The property has oil fired heating and the feed pipe inside is bonded at the boiler to the TNCS system, I was going to bond the oil tank/outlet pipe in the...

    What's inside an SPD?

As far as I understand the 18th edition unless you can provide a risk assessment which says the value of goods within the property likely to be damaged by an over voltage is less than the cost of an SPD then one must be fitted in domestic.

    Programmable element for towel rail/heater

Usually standard pipe thread sizes as you can either fit an element or rad valves if using on a wet central heating system.

    CCTV recommendation

Thanks Sparkymarka, wasn't looking for cheaper just looking for HIK vision alternative. Is the power over coax the shotgun coax cable?. Are there any real benefits of POE over TVI for a faily standard domestic install? not looking to do anything special just looking for good quality images.

    CCTV recommendation

I know most of you installers recommend the HIK Vision equipment but are there any other makes you guys would recommend at comparable price and quality. I am looking for a 4 camera kit, and am unsure at the moment as to POE or analogue. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
