    Accumulator problem

Also, you can see in the diagram that the membrane is accessible from both the top and bottom valves. My theory is that once the membrane is empty, the air pressure prevents the water from travelling from bottom to top unless the water pressure is greater than the air pressure. Which it...

    Accumulator problem

Sorry, but this is probably the one thing I am clear about. The plate on the top of the tank says zilmet ultra pro not hydro pro... The documentation I linked to is correct too, I can verify it looks exactly like my tank in the loft. Also, the tank is directly on top of a steel beam so is...

This end goes to a pipe marked mains This end goes to a T which feeds the boiler and the cold taps This is the tank in situ

    Accumulator problem

It'll be quite tricky to take pictures because it's located horizontally down the eaves of the house, but I'll try later on. As I say it's a Zilmet Ultra Pro 300 Litre tank - the literature says it's a butyl membrane pressure tank which does sound like the right thing eh?

    Accumulator problem

It really does have two connections as descibed - it is lying horizontally with a pipe coming out of both ends. Water mains in one end and feed to the boiler and taps at the other. I promise! Looking at the datasheet (and possibly confirmed by kevplumb above) I linked to earlier I would say...

    Accumulator problem

Sorry, I didn't mean that how it reads! What I meant was - thanks! I hadn't trusted my own opinion, but I'm happier to trust yours!

    Accumulator problem

That's how I read the document - thanks- but like I say I'm pretty ignorant. Anyone else's opinion is welcome. (of the accumulator, not my ignorance!) Cheers Paul

    Accumulator problem

This one has a connection at each end. See the product literature below... http://www.zilmet.com/cataloghi/4ultraproingl_russo.pdf

    Accumulator problem

The more I look at the way it's plumbed in the more I worry. I've just looked and it's actually a zilmet 300 litre tank. They have plumbed the mains water in one end and the draw off for the boiler and taps at the other. My guess is the air pressure in the tank is too high so no water can...

    Accumulator problem

Oh no! I really hope not. It is a 240 which as far as I can tell from the website should be fine. I would have hoped it would still produce more than a few drops of water once it was empty too?

    Accumulator problem

Hi all, I have a problem with a newly fitted accumulator in our new loft conversion. The first shower is great, but when the next person wants a shower ten minutes later it's fine for a bit and then they run out of water. Not just low pressure but zero pressure. Eventually it comes back...

    22mm pipes instead of 15mm?

where do I download one of these calculators? Can I not just find a boiler which will cope with my existing system without too much upheaval? The current potterton lynx does very well at heating the house... It's just unreliable and on it's last legs. I'm worried that any plumber who comes...

    22mm pipes instead of 15mm?

Oh dear, thanks for your reply. How far will the 22mm flow and return pipes need to go? All around the house or just to the nearest rad? Paul

    22mm pipes instead of 15mm?

Hi, I have a question regarding my aging potterton combi boiler. All the pipework in my house is 15mm. So on the boiler I have 15mm flow and return pipes, 15mm gas, 15mm dhw and 15mm rising mains water. The boiler is upstairs in my 2 bed semi. I need to replace the boiler fairly soon. Which...

    Air Brick Question

It does seem strange. The only reason I can see for them being there is because each room has an open fireplace and it was to give the room some fresh air. Now that we have central heating etc it does seem like we can cover them up. The rooms which have been covered up have no damp or...

    Air Brick Question

I'm not sure if they're in line with the floor joists as they are five feet in the air and the floor is covered. They do come through to the inside. The walls are not vaity walls apparently, they are just 2 brick thick. Is that enough information? They just look weird...

    Air Brick Question

I have a question regarding air bricks. My semi detached has airbricks at about head height in all the rooms. Previous occupants have most of these in. The surveyor didn't pick up on them in the survey. I have one in the back bedroom which was just papered over by the previous owner and I...
