    Concrete ceiling removal

    You can remove the cieling but its a lot of work to do without damaging the upper walls. You would have to work above and use cutting equipment as the concrete will have steel reinforced, peck away at it carefully and it should be ok.

    not really as the wall on ground floor would show signs or cracks. Paulcs34 The partition will work as supporting from the exsisting wall beneath, in most cases supporting walls are on ground floor to support upper floors, if you could add a picture we should be able to see it in more detail.

    I would remove the wall and replace it with a partition wall (timber framed and plasterboarded finished with pink plaster), the diagonal crack is not as serious as a vertical crack.

    I would say wall ties as a member said above, however, if it were built 1910 there is a possibility the walls are stone and these have become loose and moved causing the bulge.

    Take your plans to the local builders merchant, they will calculate all materials you need, then you can have a general idea for labour. :)

    I would take the ridge tiles off and tiles 3/4 rows down and place felt over ridge, replace battens and tiles and re bed the ridges.
