Thanks for all the replies. So the clarify, the presence of headers (in the bathroom wall at least) means the party walls are likely to be 9inch thick (two brick widths when laid lengthways)? Not 4.5 inch thick (width of one single brick)

Ah yes - I thought you had headers in every row of bricks uaually? Does this indicate the walls are double brick (9inch) thick ?

Total thickness inside to out on the external walls is 37cm - but pretty sure there is a cavity in there somewhere as the internal faces are brick and external stone

It’s has a very slight fall according to this spirit level and would have thought it has more of a fall from the shower tray given it’s on legs? Is the lack of significant fall likely to be the issue and not the trap?

Here are some photos. The tray has been raised with a riser kit so there must be some fall on the waste. It runs for a meter (if that) through an eaves cupboard and then straight out into the soil stack.
