    UFH problem

I have an old UFH system, a 5 zone manifold downstairs and 3 zone manifold upstairs. Wiring is into ezc 11-8 microcenter. Last year the Sunvic valve appeared to failed twice and was replaced. Simply put a thermostat called for heat, the manifold pump ran and the boiler fired up. However...

    UFH Boiler Flow Temp -

The immersion is off this is how I see it. One flow from boiler feeds both UFH and DHW. Temp of both set at boiler. 24/7 the Sunvic valves on UFH manifold call for water. Honeywell valves fitted beyond the UFH call for DHW when timer programme is on.

    UFH Boiler Flow Temp -

Hi, yes I have a Megaflow cylinder. I dont know if the boiler has a controller. They may be one. Likewise the HE could have up'ed the DHW temp on the Megaflow at the service and I didn't notice, hence the hotter DHW. The temp of the DHW I can deal / live with, it is really the UFH boiler...

    UFH Boiler Flow Temp -

I had a new Vaillant Eco Tech Plus 630 boiler fitted in December 12 and the heating engineer set the flow temp at 60c from the boiler. I have mixing valves fitted to each UFH manifold. I posted various queries about the flow temp / operating time etc here having had the boiler fitted see...

    Planning permission and ground level

Do not apply for PP. Deal with the latest letter as mentioned. Had a similar situation when a neighbour complained retrospectively about my newly built property. I had swapped a dormer for a velux, informally agreed with the Planning Officer. The neighbour agreed but the Planning Officer said i...

Not an expert by any means. However my brother has this system in the house he built. It has UFH throughout and works like a dream. Been fitted over 2 years and he is very please with it.

    Sunvic SZ2301

Hi Turned on my U/F heating this afternoon to check all is OK before winter and I think I have a faulty / knackered Sunvic SZ2301. I turn the room stats up to 30 and the manifold pump doesn't run - it looks the actuator isn't working. The same set up on the other manifold fires the pump...

Vaillant Eco Tech Plus 930 - Pressure Problem

A few days ago woke up and the boiler had failed to start due to a low pressure error. Having had these before i knew it was a leak and checked my UFH manifold, where a pin head valve had leaked shortly after the boiler was installed, no leak there but there was a damp area just below a T in the...

Thanks for this - programmer tested by my plumber and it was a faulty electrical connection. Programmer and valves work fine now.

    No hot water from Megaflow

Cheers for the replies. It is a problem with the programmer. Switched both programmes off last night and the CH led came on!!! Set it run as usual on auto, checked and came on fine at 05.30 this morning. Obviously needs looking at as it also appears to switch itself off when it should be on...

    No hot water from Megaflow

In December 2012 I had my boiler replaced and DHW and UFH are from a Vallant Eco Tech Plus 630. Installed and everything fine until today I have an 11 year old Megaflow. Never had to do anything to it or had any trouble with it. There are two Honeywell valves, in line, on the pipe leading...

    Which Water Softener

I have a Monarch metered water softener installed. About 10 years old and as good as new. Uses about 1 bag of salt tablets a month. A good investment. I even left it for 6 months without adding any salt (don't ask why.) When I added salt, did a couple of manual regenerations, the water test...

    UFH New Boiler

I have been monitoring my usage since 23/12/12 (reading 14396.701) until tonight (reading 14579.101) using a cost estimator from this website http://www.ukpower.co.uk/tools/ my cost per day over this period on 24/7 is £3.48 inc VAT. However the last few weeks have been relatively mild so I...

    UFH New Boiler

My system is simplistic as, probably because the original UFH was installed incorrectly, the boiler is on a permanent live.

    UFH New Boiler

UFH on 16 hrs and off 8 hrs can not really be classified as a short time period. I would get this point if the UFH was on 6 hrs in the morning, off 4 hrs until late afternoon, then back on for 5 or 6 hrs in the evening and off the remaining 8 hrs overnight. Lots of energy required to get the UFH...

    UFH New Boiler

The funny thing is I can see what agile is getting at. I need DWH only 6 hrs a day but I need UFH 18 - 24 hrs a day. Surely it therefore wiser to have the boiler set up for that that needs it most often, the UFH, and take it that the DHW will not be efficiently supplied by the boiler. No...
