Replace Honeywell T6360 with remote simple thermostat for elderly

So it's looking like I should discard the existing manual thermostat and cable, and wire the Honeywell wireless receiver in next to the controller?

Replace Honeywell T6360 with remote simple thermostat for elderly

Thanks for your comments. The other end of the cable at the controller is described above. This project is looking much more complex than I expected!

Replace Honeywell T6360 with remote simple thermostat for elderly

I'm assuming that the 4 core cable from the room thermostat runs to the controller. There is only one matching cable there. The four wires from it connect to the controller thus; Brown - 2 Black - 3 Blue - 7 Green yellow - connects to the yellow in the second photo that runs through a junction...

Replace Honeywell T6360 with remote simple thermostat for elderly

Thanks again Chris. I've been doing more research and understand a little better now the reason for a permanent live, and why these units are normally located next to the boiler, rather than as a thermostat swap. As this is non-critical work how could I check to ensure there is a permanent live...

Replace Honeywell T6360 with remote simple thermostat for elderly

The central heating controller is a Danfoss 4033, if that makes any difference. And I understand that using the earth cable for a non-earth connection is rather ugly, but this system has not been worked on for years.

Replace Honeywell T6360 with remote simple thermostat for elderly

Went for a Honeywell T3R in the end, as it was preferred by the user. I'm reviewing forum postings and watching the Honeywell videos, but if anyone can confirm the correct rewiring from the previous T6360B to the T3R wireless receiver backplate I'd appreciate it. It looks to me like; Blue 2 to...

That looks like a great recommendation Chris. Thanks indeed.

Replace Honeywell T6360 with remote simple thermostat for elderly

Hey all. I appreciate that this question has been answered many times, but I was interested to hear your feedback on the latest replacement central heating thermostats. I want to replace my mum's Honeywell T6360B manual thermostat (4 wire supply, see photo) running a Glow worm Micron non-combi...

Reinforcing apartment wooden door on a budget

The hinges do seem strong, so I am not worried about adding a little weight to the door. You think ply (9mm?) would do a better job of stopping it splitting down the middle from a kick than 1.5mm steel? I guess the ply is a little flexible which might be a benefit.

Reinforcing apartment wooden door on a budget

Need to reinforce a friend's apartment door on a tight budget. Its unglazed and fairly solid, not hollow but not great. It has four strong hinges and a decent lock. We are going to add deadlocks top and bottom plus metal reinforcing down the hinge and lock jambs. I'll know more about the...

Rad vibrating - but how to reverse flow on this TRV? pic

Just to close off this thread. This type of TRV valve is factory fitted and is not reversible. The Danfoss instructions are referring to different internals. The heating engineer found that his mate had reversed the flow/return pipes during install of this rad and he had to correct them to...

How is underfloor central heating installed?

When you say wood floor do you mean floorboards or something like a thin wood laminate floor? If floorboards there is a lot written about the insulating effects of wood and how it is perhaps not advisable to have UFH under wood that is thick enough to be load bearing (as in floorboards). Then...

Rad vibrating - but how to reverse flow on this TRV? pic

Appreciate the fast response but there are no arrows or markings. That is my problem. Thanks also for the pdf link but I did review that before posting. At the 6 o'clock position on the brass ring next to the red ring there is a small cutout. This is currently aligned with the 'N' on the red...

Rad vibrating - but how to reverse flow on this TRV? pic

Our last, newly fitted rad vibrates loudly at a certain temperature point. Adjusting the trv a mm or two either way resolves it until the next time. The forums suggest that the trv valve is set up on the wrong flow direction and reversing it will resolve the issue. So I took off the head but...

Tracking down Delonghi radiator bracket spares

I don't, but I will try the local engineers if I get stuck. I was hoping I could just find someone with spares or old stock. The couple of Delonghi sites I have contacted were not even aware they sell/make any non-oil filled radiators :?

Tracking down Delonghi radiator bracket spares

Got some standard K1 Delonghi rads back in 2010 and they came with 'Easyfit' type brackets. I managed to lose the clip, bolt and threaded plate (see picture) from the top of one bracket - and Delonghi say they are discontinued. I know I can remove the rad and fit two new brackets but it seems a...
