    Making paint colours

    I have promised to paint my son's bedroom which is quite large and we're on a bit of a budget (aren't we all?!). If I was to buy some reasonable quality magnolia paint which I think is the cheapest colour, and add a couple of drops of blue food colouring, would the paint still be ok to use?

    Tiles above hob have fallen down.

    The back wall in our kitchen is tiled onto MDF which is attached to the wall (I assume it was done like this as the wall was a bit uneven). Now after only 6 months, the tiles that are above the hob and oven have fallen off. Is this because the grout dried out? How can I avoid this happening...

    Leaking roof

    My god son has just moved into a new flat and when it rains heavily, rain water leaks through the wall and exits through a door frame. He went up onto the roof and there seems to be a lot of crumbling stone work around the chimney area where it meets the flat roof. Is there anything he can do...

    Wallpaper or paint? That is the question.

    Are you a wallpaper or a paint person when it comes to decorating your walls? I'm of the opinion that if your furniture is plain, go for a patterned wallpaper. But if you've got some funky patterned furniture pieces, then stick to a plain painted wall so as not to confuse the eye.
