Boiler gas feed pipe - should it be uprated?

Hi guys, Just a question as this has been identified by the engineer that our boiler has a 22mm pipe feed to it and it should be uprated to 28mm - but not all the way... What I don't understand is why they would suggest such a thing if you're not replacing the whole pipe just some of it as...

Random gurgling on one of the radiators

Hi, I have a radiator which is gurgling now and then - nothing serious just annoying. Given its summer the heating hasnt\isnt on but I guess due to pressure changes and movement obviously the water still circulates and air can become trapped. Im yet to bleed it as a first but another thought...

Luke warm water thermostatic concealed shower unit

As they say it's like buses nothing then 3 come along at the same time instead of buses we have "bathroom issues". So our shower has decided we should only have a luke warm showers instead of hot. I've run a tap and that gets hot so it's definitely the shower. I took the handle off (they aren't...

    Problems with leak around shower

Thing is like all trades you don't know what they are like until the works done. Obviously not all are cowboys and some are better at some things than others but when a customer asks them generally they will have a go (again depending on what it is) because it's extra revenue and sometimes it's...

    Problems with leak around shower

Or another option when we can is just remove that boxed wall making it wider and move the cabinet across. Not a massive job as we have the capacity to attack it, just a shame we didn't get it right first time

    Problems with leak around shower

Haha the cap was off probably because we cleaned the shower and never put it back on Thanks for the heads up on the link although the length is 1200 so ideally we would like to use as much of the space as possible... Another quick Google and some people have bedded some of the tray in the...

    Problems with leak around shower

Not sure a dip tube (just googled) is required for this shower? It came with a waste that has like a cup inside to handle the water. Also unless you can adjust the height of them I don't think it would fit? Or as you referred to raising the tray then obviously it would fit. Also re the tiling -...

    Problems with leak around shower

I was thinking something along the lines of that. And it wasn't the professionals fault misses wanted what she got and there was no arguing 600mm wide shower cubicle of some description (again these low profile shower trays look great) but if you have a bit of a blockage from the odd tidy of...

    Problems with leak around shower

Hi guys Firstly I know what you are thinking "what where we thinking" and to be honest with you we weren't thinking straight. We have a shower which has been sat in place for about 2 years now all was fine. Recently we had a bit of a flood where a flexible pipe burst and flooded the bathroom...

Back of worktop in the way for screwbit\hot cold tails of tap any suggestions please?

On this there aren't units either side just panels as we have a washing machine one side and tumble dryer the other. So this unit is almost free standing apart from the worktop which it's screwed into and then that is screwed to the other units the other side of the tumble dryer.

Back of worktop in the way for screwbit\hot cold tails of tap any suggestions please?

Hi Guys, As you know Im a bit of a diy'er so Im always after the opinion of the pro's. Where the underside of the tap comes through the worktop the carcass cross section is in the way. I might be wrong but I am guessing this is forming some kind of strength to the unit? My initial thought was...

Please tell me where Im going wrong

Sorry so the pic shows all the bits I have. I'm not going to use the bottle trap as I have a trap already just trying to get from the sink down to the trap with the bits I have. Failing that I'll chuck them in the bin and grab a pre made set from Screwfix And I know that the instructions are...

Please tell me where Im going wrong

Hi So every time I try to connect up a kitchen sink waste I seem to stumble. As in the photo I have the plastic nut then the plastic tapered washer then the rubber - this is correct or not? I then struggle to push and screw (oohh err misses) the pipe in as it always feels the threads aren't...

Is this right? (Gap in dry verges) (Ed.)

Yeh sorry I've had my hands full lately. Will get a picture from the window uploaded. My plan was also get the scaffolding removed and see if the water runs down and collects by the garage which is directly underneath this point.
