    eicr model form

Can anyone point me in the direction of somewhere I can get a model form to fill in on the computer? I don't have acrobat, so a pdf won't work(?) and I don't have open office so an odt won't work, so a doc or docx would probably be needed. I've tried converting a pdf but the formatting...

    condensation

A friend of mine is buying a flat and asked me to have a look. The survey noted localised moisture ingress in roof. I had a look in the loft space. The property is four in a block, 2 up, 2 down, with separate roofs facing at 90 degrees to each other, so a semi detached type roof with a ridge...

eicrs mandatory in let properties in Scotland

Thanks Owain. Ardanach lettings are not an authoritive source, neither are SAL who they are quoting, but I guess SAL are at least talking to the people that intend to implement the legislation. It's a pity that the information is still so vague for people who are trying to find out the "new"...

eicrs mandatory in let properties in Scotland

I had heard they were passing a housing act in Scotland with an amendment to make EICRs mandatory in privately let properties in Scotland. Can anyone confirm if this is happening, or has happened?

Where does building stop an decorating begin?

I think I may have misunderstood what is meant by skimming, I thought it meant taping the joint and skimming the joint, as it turns out it is all skimmed. I had left the painting in certain areas not to save cost, but because other works are ongoing and it would be unsuitable for some areas to...

Where does building stop an decorating begin?

I have had a fair bit of work done by a builder. Parts were to be decorated (with a colour specified), and parts were specified in advance as "no redecoration required", as I intend to paint these myself. All of the walls and ceilings were new plasterboard. Towards the end of the job I...

    1.5mm ring

Thanks for that info, I didn't know you couldn't reduce the protective device to suit the cable. I had thought a 20A plug in mcb might help in the short term, but if it is a no-go I'll forget that.

    1.5mm ring

I noted a ring cct today in 1.5 T+E on a 3036 30a Fuse. What is the largest fusing or mcb that this could safely be used with?.

    vokera compact 28

I have a small water leak from a small clear flexible tube sticking out the bottom of the boiler. Can anyone tell me what this is? I'm assuming it is some kind of "tell tale"

    Inspection/Access Panels?

Does anyone know what these are called or where I can buy them? It is a plastic cover, around 8" in diameter (they probably come in a range of sizes), with a couple of dimples in them to allow them to be gripped to be screwed into or out of a base piece mounted in the wall, usually...

Anyone know if there are model forms for an Electrical installation Certificate (17th) available to download at the IET website. I know they had them before for the 16th, but can't find them now?

    White jg speedfit

Are white jg speedfit fittings suitable for domestic hot water from a combi where the temperature is not likely to get much above 60 deg C (ok maybe a little higher for a short time as the boiler modulates)? It's just that I remeber seeing gray fittings but not white.
