Bathroom lighting problem - grateful for advice.

Sometimes when I pull the cord both of them seem to flicker momentarily. Sometimes maybe one of them will flicker. Sometimes neither. I did buy a spare PAR38 this evening and fitted it - nothing. I was fairly sure it wasn't the bulbs, but wanted to rule that out as it had caused me...

Bathroom lighting problem - grateful for advice.

Update on this old thread...... I got a pal in who tested and confirmed power was at the fitting. I'm ashamed to say 2 new bulbs did the trick. I was so embarrassed. And so it's been fine until today. The young un said the lights don't work. I checked - and they flicker...

Leak from rad valve (not the thermostat).

I think I do need to drain, don't I? Shut off the water. Turn off the combi. Drain system. Replace lockshield valve. Refill system + send in all that good inhibitor stuff. Is that about it?

Leak from rad valve (not the thermostat).

Hi all, I've found a leak to the lockshield valve on the left hand side of an upstairs rad. This corresponds to a slight drop in pressure over recent weeks at my combi. I packed bog roll around the valve and pipe last night (and a flannel). This morning the flannel is wet, so it's a...

    Replace 8ft T8 in garage

Hi, My garage has a single 8ft 100w T8 tube which has packed up. I want to replace it with a couple of 5ft 58w T8s - one at the north end, one at the south. FYI - the garage has a 2-way switch (one at either end). Will the two new, separate units wire in sequence? Advice gratefully...

understairs loo - pull-cord light not working

Howdy, The pullcord light under the stairs stopped working today. It felt as if the "clicker" wasn't working. I removed the fitting and cleaned up the internals, and the switch "clicker" is now working. I replaced as I found it (or so I thought) but the light is not working now. I have...

Bathroom lighting problem - grateful for advice.

Cheers. Will give it a go. I always shut EVERYTHING off at the mains before attempting anything. Will get a multimeter though, and then have a go. Fingers crossed. Thanks Steve

Bathroom lighting problem - grateful for advice.

Hi, Apologies for long, first posting here. I really need some good advice. Bathroom has two 'downlighters' - both house PAR 38 bulbs, which I understand are generally meant for external floodlighting. One of these packed up a while ago - I swapped in a new bulb, no dice. The wife...
