I plan to use 2 x 80cm on top of one another to make 1.6m. My spur in the garden will carry electricity to the back seating area, and from there the lights will connect to that connection. But I need a way to turn them on from within the house. JH

Simple solution No need for remote control At the moment, I already have a spur in the garden. The whole new area will run off that spur.

I used to have varilight but then I switched to the wifi system Lightwave.

Still flickers at 100%.

Suppose I put a normal switch on and it doesn't flicker. Does that mean that I need to change the switch or the bulbs? The switch is part of a whole smart hub system (Lightwave) so it's not much of an option. JH

Would I need a dimmable switch?

ok, I ordered some new dimmable GU10 bulbs from Amazon and changed them with what I had. Now I have a different problem. If I set the brightness to 100%, then it flickers every second or so. If I reduce it to 95%, it flickers less often. If I set it to below 90%, it doesn't seem to flicker...

My fused spur feeds about 5 wires into the junction box. So I take it one of them is live and one is neutral, right? i can detect a live wire. How do I detect a neutral? JH

So how will I know which live and which neutral to use for the relay?

Out of all the wires going into and out of the junction box, will there only be one live wire? JH

Ah, that makes more sense. So the next step in the puzzle would be to locate the Live and Neutral. Are there any suggestions as to the steps I can take to locate them? I have a Multimeter. JH
