    Thanks bengasman i think you are on the ball. dhw is getting into the ch flow pipe which gets much more warmer than the dhw pipe - the temp gauge on the front goes from 25degC to approx 30degC. So, i've got 2 problems, probaly related. Firstly the boiler does not fire up in dhw mode...

    I have an Ideal c24 mini combi, approx 8 years old, that is leaking hot water from the overlow (pressure relief valve) pipe outside - I estimate approx 1 lite per minute. The pressure on the guage was reading maximum at 3.5-4 bar so I assumed somebody must have opened the filling loop too much...

    the fan does not appear to be running when i took the inner case cover off i could see the fan assembly and the the small rotor that is on the outside of the fan assembly does not spin when boiler is started. if i move it by hand it spins ok, i.e. not sticking

    Thanks doitall I've just seen the thing on www.bes.co.uk, code 6048 and is only a quid or so. What is a Cooker Stability Bracket for? Is it to stop the cooker from moving? is is clamped at the floor or the wall??? What about the chain? is that to prevent pulling on the pipe?
