    Composite door adjustment (pics)

Hi all, I had this composite door fitted 18 months ago and bit by bit it’s got stiffer to open (when pushing closed & pulling open) I think it’s dropped very slightly. Unfortunately it’s now also affecting the lock in that to open the door the thumb turn or key sometimes doesn’t turn the full...

    Leak behind toilet, pan connector

Hi All, I’ve got a small leak behind the toilet, looks to be the pan connector join. see picture I’m guessing I’ve got no chance of being able to use some sealant to sort this out? That due to the tight access I’ll probably have to move the toilet forward and take out and replace the pan...

Thermostatic shower mixer leak - cartridge?

That's the way I was leaning towards, It is a 150mm standard fitment, changing it over doesn't look too difficult so I'll see what we fancy changing to, possibly a Mira Coda Ev 2. Thanks

Thermostatic shower mixer leak - cartridge?

Hi, I have this thermostatic shower mixer but it doesn't have any branding on it. Unfortunately it's leaking, a slow drip from the arrow on the left where I presume I would just need to get a new olive in there with some PTFE. The bigger leak though is from the right hand side (in the...

Help investigating lounge leak, rain coming down soil stack?

Cleaned it all up and pushed back in, tested, still leaked. Just got a new boss adapter from b&q for £2, screwfix only had packs of 5 for £7 New rubber feels alot firmer (I guess it's not 20 years old) and is a much more snug fit into the soil strap part. Will continue to check it...

Help investigating lounge leak, rain coming down soil stack?

Ok so, upstairs bathroom checks showed that there were no leaks around the WC joints. Attacked the lounge corner and here it is, the leak is from a pipe from what I believe is the upstairs bathroom sink and where it joins the soil stack where the soil strap on is..... It's a...

Help investigating lounge leak, rain coming down soil stack?

Ok so to cut the story short, I have a leak that I believe relates to my soil stack pipe. Noticed it over winter after leaving something heavy on the carpet that it had left a wet patch behind. Have a baby due in a few months so am trying to get all house jobs sorted asap, including a new...

Advice - Fitting trellis to top of garden wall

Hi, Need some advice with fitting trellis. This is my garden below, as you can see I have bungalows behind me and the garden wall isn't quite high enough to give full privacy. My house ground floor is a foot higher than where this picture was taken from so we can currently see into...

Radiator leak - from around temperature control pin

Hi, Have a leak from a radiator but it isn’t from the valve, most google results seem to relate to issues people have had with valves. The leak is from the bottom of the temperature control pin. It’s a small radiator in our box room, it’s only had my shirt rack, ironing board, weights in...

    Which Kitchen Floor, ideas please

Hi all, The time has come to try and improve my kitchen on a budget. It's a pretty pathetic kitchen, I've just finished pulling up the old self adhesive floor tiles that were down. Fortunately these came off quite easily and haven't left any old adhesive down. Due to budget...

Central Heating + showerpump not working, Hot Water Fine

Ok, So I've detached the actuator from the 3 port valve. The spindle moves by hand, only a little both ways but it does look like I can move it by hand just as much as the actuator would move it when using the manual override lever So it appears it's not seized. When turning the...

Central Heating + showerpump not working, Hot Water Fine

Hi All, I've got a Glow Worm Ultimate 50ff system boiler. If I use the timer to request hot water, boiler fires up no problem. If I use the timer to request heating, boiler does nothing, doesn't even attempt to fire. Was fine on Saturday but Sunday it's not having it. I had a rough...
