Washing machine low pressure supply and no supply to conditioner

UPDATE: I took the inlet valve apart to find that the one of the black diaphragms had a tear in it. I replaced the whole inlet valve (though maybe I could have sourced just a black diaphragm / washer?) and it is now working again. It fills much faster. I've heard turning the supply to the...

Washing machine low pressure supply and no supply to conditioner

ok, I'll go ahead and replace the valve (well, both valves as it looks like they're bought as a set). I found one set online for £8.50 which says it's compatible with my WIL103 so I'll give that a go, thanks

Washing machine low pressure supply and no supply to conditioner

yes, it has a supply with good pressure, it's not supplied by a loft tank. It has worked fine for a few years, the problem occurred only recently. The jets in the main wash compartment spray with good pressure.

Washing machine low pressure supply and no supply to conditioner

I noticed my machine (Indesit) no longer empties the conditioner compartment so I took the dispenser drawer apart and removed and then thoroughly cleaned the dispenser draw lid where the jets are located. I also ran water through the lid while it was detached to check all the jet holes are...

problem with upvc mechanism, sourcing spare parts...?

Also, I have a query about adjusting the position of the window sash: I was able to adjust it by turning the horizontal adjustment screw and the allen bolt in the lower hinge, however I couldn't see how the upper hinge could be adjusted. Am I missing something, or is it simply a fixed hinge?

problem with upvc mechanism, sourcing spare parts...?

As you can see the mechanism splays due to the missing plate that screws on at this location

problem with upvc mechanism, sourcing spare parts...?

On the lock side of my UPVC window ("Maco 97 4", "DKM Gr 5 1800-2350") it looks like I'm missing a couple of small parts and I think this relates to the problems I'm having trying to get the window to shut and seal properly. I compared the lock side with a window that is ok and I can see the...

    Drain query

This drain is on the pavement right outside (1m away) the entrance door to my block of flats. I assume it is to take surface water away, it is slightly uphill and about 1m away from a Scottish Water 'Sewer' inspection cover, I assume they are directly connected. My neighbours in the ground...

Fixing a frame for very large doors / bifolds?

I want to fit a large set of heavy glass doors in an opening 3.8m wide x 2.7m high. I may also have a roller door installed in the aperture, in front of the glass doors for security reasons. I am wondering though if this would then make getting a good fixing for the door frame very difficult...

Exposed cable entering into electric shower - dangerous?

It's grey, presumably standard 6mm t&e. "Even if the shower supply is RCD protected though, other circuits might not be. This would be common under 16th Edition split load with sockets and shower on RCD and the lighting not RCD" Could you explain how the secondary earth connection makes it...

Exposed cable entering into electric shower - dangerous?

I believe he is experienced and qualified but how do people check for qualifications and which ones do you look for? I generally instead go on recommendations and obviously using the same people as much as possible when the jobs have worked out and I think they are good. I would definitely not...

Exposed cable entering into electric shower - dangerous?

I just spoke to Triton technical help, they said any of the listed entry points are ok for cable but it must be in conduit. And that the conduit should be cut to fit the profile of the shower, I can imagine it won't be a good seal if it's just hand cut and butted up.

Exposed cable entering into electric shower - dangerous?

I just had a shower installed and there is a small stretch of cable exposed. Is this safe, does it need to be in conduit? Apparently the shower is designed for surface cable entry (Triton T80z) but I just can't believe that it's ok to have a mains cable exposed on a shower wall.

40mm bath waste into existing cast iron tee

This is what it looks like cleaned up, guess I can just get rid of the extension bit that I'm holding up in the the picture and use a fernco coupler? Pipe has 60mm diameter
