What is the best form of secondary glazing?

Yes, I am just asking about addressing the cold now. We have taken heed of all the elements re condensation and just want to know which secondary glazing option is best for warmth and draughts. I have uploaded some pictures on an album entitled Sash Windows.

What is the best form of secondary glazing?

Thanks. Is it worth caulking all the windows? I would use window sealant. But if we are going to buy secondary glazing I am wondering if it's better to do each panel of the windows or have one big pane that slides open. The windows are pretty sizeable and we have a lot of them.

What is the best form of secondary glazing?

Thanks. I understand that it might help it not be quite so bad with secondary glazing. We want to get heating bills down as well. Got original sash windows in 1930s house. The locks are the screw ones and they open by the lower pane sliding upwards. They are not the type where you can slide...

Looking for reviews on CAMARO and KARNDEAN flooring.

Thanks, that's really helpful as we could do with saving a bit of money. After considering plank - we reckon we are going to go with tile. We got a Karndean de Vinci sample in black with a slightly textured finish that we like. We will get that quoted in Camaro to see the price difference...

Looking for reviews on CAMARO and KARNDEAN flooring.

Hi, Camaro is cheaper so wondering what experiences people have had of these two flooring covers before we lay the flooring in the kitchen. It is going over underfloor heating. Any reviews / advice greatly appreciated.

Has anyone used a Dulux Paint Pod? Please advise asap

Hi, my neighbour is wanting to use Dulux paint pod on my renovation - he's helping me out painting. He says the paint is a lot cheaper and it doesn't take as long. I am dubious because as an old fashioned person I am cynical about this paint pod paint. Never seen a pro use one. Does anyone...

Electrician has left holes in interior brickwork

Did they say exactly what they mean by . Is it when the electrical work has been completed and BEFORE plastering or after plastering. Ask them that question and if it is after plastering then ask if they will ensure in writing that they or the builder pays for all work necessary ( including...

Electrician has left holes in interior brickwork

we haven't got any on outside walls. However, I suspect that any wiring in the wash house and garage will have conduit (that's my punter word for any encased wiring....) and they haven't been done that. Thanks for reminding me though :)

Electrician has left holes in interior brickwork

I thought that at first, but, if I point out the regs from NICEIC and the other areas that have been done by his moaning minion (whose attitude he is aware of and for which he has apologised), I am sure that he will be fine about it. I don't think he minds doing what the customer wants and I am...

Electrician has left holes in interior brickwork

Hello all, thought you might like to know NICEIC's response from their technical dept. Can I just say, the customer service there was amazing. They were incredibly helpful - they could have taken 14 days to deal with this but after a phone call today they transferred all my pics to the tech...

Replacing original sash windows with UPVC - pls discuss.....

Hi, we have discussed CWI in order to keep original sash windows which are not secondary glazed. However, cannot have CWI as debris has gone in the cavity and it would more than likely breach the natural dpc of this Akrington brick-built house. Ventrolla have quoted £12k just to overhaul the...

Electrician has left holes in interior brickwork

A plasterer in this house has dot and dabbed where blown plaster has come off and then bonded it (or at least he used that term) up to the original plaster. If you tap it - it sounds blown - but they say it can sound like that when it's dot and dabbed. I don't like it you know - because a...

Electrician has left holes in interior brickwork

Got a builder coming for the second time tomorrow with his plasterer and joiner. He has been recommended and he said I should go and look at an extension he built (which I did). Had a word with the guy whose extension it was and he said he had no issues etc. I will ask him. Fingers crossed. :|

Electrician has left holes in interior brickwork

It was the look on a builder's face that made me post that heading. It was no accident that I posted lots of photos. I know that look - my dad has that look .... it's not good news. Both are obvious old school. Thank you for the advice about a structural engineer - I will do that. 8)
