    Boiler Condensate pipe connector

Ok sorry to bore you with more of this but I’m struggling with the sizes etc. I’m a total novice diyer. I measure the outside of existing pipe at approx 1 1/4” ( see photo ). I will check the inside dimension later but recall it being approx 25mm According to this article that means I need...

    Boiler Condensate pipe connector

It’s chrome plastic. Your suggestion is a solvent adaptor. Is my current fitting solvent & the solvent has worn off?

    Boiler Condensate pipe connector

Good evening. I wonder if anyone can help me? I have a boiler where the condensate waste pipe (flex hose) drains into a drain in the wall. The connector appears to have developed a leak where it screws into the wall. Can anyone recommend a particular type of replacement connector? The...

    Conservatory Roof Leaking

Ok thanks. So is it as simple as pushing this toward the peak from near the gutter or is it more involved?

    Conservatory Roof Leaking

I've attached some photos of the outside. I can get closer up - to check if there's any obvious signs of the panels slipping - by climbing onto the tiled roof of our extension but as it's windy today I'll postpone. I'm reluctant to climb onto the conservatory itself, naturally, as I doubt...

    Conservatory Roof Leaking

Hello. Can anyone help with a leaky roof on our conservatory. It always leaks around the 'semi circular' area highlighted in the photos. Always out of the area circled. I've managed to re-affix the fallen internal item but its still leaking. It's been like this since we moved into the...

    Vent Pipe Cover Repair

Hello all, It seems our gravity flap vent cover for our kitchen extractor has disappeared. Cripes knows where it's gone but anyway.... because it has no gravity flap / cover the kitchen is cold due to the back draft. It seems the installer did a bit of a bodge / the wall render has crumbled...

Improve Hot Water Pressure (Whole House)

Thanks. There's not much choice these days - Franke Rotaflow and a Swirl version seem to be the only types in Screwfix at least but I will widen my search. Thank you for your help - I'll let you know how it works out if I change it.

Improve Hot Water Pressure (Whole House)

I could look at full turn mixer tap presumably for the kitchen sink (current is quarter turn)? This may improve the situation?

Improve Hot Water Pressure (Whole House)

I believe the pressure to be 0.3 bar. The tap I fitted recently allegedly worked off a pressure lower than this. It is no better than the non-mixer tap it replaced. Likewise the bath - the mixer replaced 2 single taps and is no better / worse (albeit was 5 years ago). I will look into this...

Improve Hot Water Pressure (Whole House)

I believe so. The one to the downstairs vanity basin certainly is and it's no better than any others.

Improve Hot Water Pressure (Whole House)

I have a vented gravity hot water system with direct mains cold. Cold tank in loft. Hot cylinder in airing cupboard on first floor. Worcester Bosch 15ri boiler. The hot water is pressure throughout the whole house is pitiful. It produces 1 litre of water in around 17 seconds and takes 1.5...

Hot water heating time / amount

I'll do this tomorrow hopefully. Thank you. If it points to scale what's the cure? Would a system clean / flush (like what we had within the last 12 months) not remove scale? The previous pump was replaced (at same time as flushing) because it had become 'bunged up' with black stuff and was...

Hot water heating time / amount

Some further photos of what's installed. 3PV was installed c.5 years ago. Pump within the last year - system was professionally flushed at the same time.

Hot water heating time / amount

Hello. I'm after some guidance if possible. I have a gravity fed 117 litre hot water cylinder heated by a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 15ri boiler. For years we've scheduled the hot water to come on for 45 mins in the morning and 45 mins in the evening. This provided enough water for washing...

    Neutral for wifi switch

Thanks for your help. I'll give it further thought. The switch is for 2 wall lights and there's only 2 wires into the rear of each.

    Neutral for wifi switch

Ok thanks. I only asked as some of the 'needs no neutral' switches provide capacitors - see here http://tiny.cc/yd8muz - and a previous post on here suggested it was possible; https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/no-neutral-light-switches.544617/

    Neutral for wifi switch

Is there a capacitor I could use to overcome this? The switch will control 2 wall lights and there's room behind to fit something (just) or possibly even in the switch backbox?

    Neutral for wifi switch

Hello all. I am wishing to install a 'smart' wifi light switch - see here http://tiny.cc/1c8muz - which requires a neutral wire. My existing circuit has several wires and I'm a little confused by it. I wish to install it on a spur that has been added using new wiring colour regs from an...
