Should self levelling compound look like this?

There are high/low spots on the grey areas- I laid a board edge on it just now. The cream areas are still slick. To my untrained eye it looks like the grey areas are too thick and it’s just sat like porridge as it’s set rather than self-levelling.

Should self levelling compound look like this?

Hi, I’ve recently outsourced the rip-out and refinish of my lounge diner to a builder as after five years of working in my house I’m frankly getting tired. Part of this was the re-screeing of the concrete floor owing to it being uneven and a parquet (spl?) floor going in. I’ve never done such...

    Drilling into stoney wall/pebblecrete

I live in an 1950s ex local authority house with walls that are made of what appears to be aggregate mixed with concrete and I need advice on drilling. It’s not smooth pebblecrete as I would call it as it is lumpy stones of approx 20mm+ across loosely glued together with a sheen on concrete...

How do I Programme my Salus RT510TX?

Hello, I have had a boiler fitted that came with an RT510TX programmable thermostat. I was given a fold out booklet to accompany this which contains details as to how to set the time and pair it with the boiler. Unfortunately it does not come with any kind of clear instructions as to how to...

Glow worm compact boiler, shower running hot and cold

Thanks. Shower kept alternating hot then cold. It’s a thermostatic mixer shower running off the combi boiler feed. Shower was installed two months ago. Central heating appears to be running ok. Pressure now sits at 1.5, pressure loop is now closed. Yes I believe this was the initial cause of...

Glow worm compact boiler, shower running hot and cold

i have just moved into a new house in need of renovation. I removed a radiator yesterday and represurised the system afterwards. I woke up this morning to find the pressure dial at over 3.5 and the pressure release pipe outside dripping. I shut the water off and the boiler down and bled a...

    WaterPROOF expanding foam needed

No permanent structure fixings permitted I'm afraid as the watercourse for the street runs underneath. I forgot to add that bit, apologies. I've coated the external faces and edges of the wood with tar paint but I'm not looking for it to last forever as I'll be selling the house at some point...

    WaterPROOF expanding foam needed

i have built a metal shed to be used as a workshop with a foundation of edge mounted 8x2 joists for it to sit on. It is sat on a concrete patio that has proved to be uneven with rain water run off ingress under the joists through a number of gaps where the ground dips away. I'm looking for a...

Temp' fix needed for combo valve

Yep that's the one. Doesn't seem to want to turn much more. I'm turning the spanner from right to left, is that the correct way? -stupid question, but I genuinely have no idea about this.

Fully tightened as far as I can tell. There's a tightening nut on it but I thought that was just for securing it on. I'll have a play.

Has a Karcher just destroyed my patio?

My patio is made of the yellow tinged cheap stone effect concrete slabs. They've been getting a bit grim and mud tinged recently due to run off and foot traffic. Today the other half with the best of intentions borrowed a Karcher and has 'cleaned' the slabs. They now are uniformly concrete grey...

Cracking lumps of emulsion on lining paper- sand off?

I've been painstakingly decorating our dining room for two weekends now. Having carefully laid lining paper adjacent all the way round I added a light coating of watered down eggshell emulsion with a roller yesterday having left the edges well alone. I come in today to find my wife helpfully...
