Can I carpet straight over concrete?

I have a few things in the garage which will require dismantling to get them out, it will be a real pain so hoping to avoid it, would be easier to do one side/move the things/do the other side.

Can I carpet straight over concrete?

Thanks for the responses! Much appreciated. I wanted to avoid using interlocking floor tiles as from the pictures I've seen, they seem to pick up dirt in the joins. Wanted to get something that could be vacuumed/mopped easily and not look too utility. On a side note, I have some Indian...

Can I carpet straight over concrete?

Hello, I am planning to make a home gym in my garage. The floor is concrete, not smooth (picture attached). I was wondering if I can just stick carpet tiles over the top or maybe a carpet underlay, then carpet tiles on top. Hoping to avoid screed/latex. Cheers

    Is this Japanese Knotweed?

I've used glyphosate to kill a lawn in a new build house we moved into in November last year (was weedy, house built on back garden of other houses). Today I've noticed shooting up from the ground on the dead bits, some red stemmed weeds. Is this Knotweed?

Garage roof - can I replace these nails with screws?

Hello, I have boarded the loft space in my garage. There are a few protruding nails at eye level. I was wondering if I can screw these (braces?) to the joists instead, then remove the nails. Pics attached.

Hot water or electric underfloor heating, can you tell?

As said, the pics are from the professional snagger, it's their job to look for things like that on a new build. The point of that pic was the thermostat, incase anyone recognised the system.

Hot water or electric underfloor heating, can you tell?

Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to tell the type of underfloor heating from thermal imaging. It's a new build house and I am yet to move in, I was told it was hot water but I have not seen any valves from the boiler to the system when I was having a look around. The images are from a...

King post not attached to Truss/tie beam

Hello, I am looking at purchasing a barn conversion and had a look in the loft, I saw something that raised a few eyebrows (both mine) but wanted to get a bit more info before I wasted money on a survey. Forgive my probably incorrect terminology, but I've been learning from Google! The roof...

Which bit/method to enlarge 15mm hole to 26mm hole

The hinge cutter and piece of wood worked perfectly. Now if I had only tried that first time round I wouldn't have taken off so much paint! Cheers guys.

Which bit/method to enlarge 15mm hole to 26mm hole

Thanks, what do you recommend using to plug the hole? It's for a camera that works with my CCTV setup. http://www.networkcameracritic.com/?p=2371 It's 26mm wide.

Which bit/method to enlarge 15mm hole to 26mm hole

Hello, I have a hole (where the peephole was) in my door that I want to enlarge to 26mm. The outside is made out of some sort of plastic and the inside is foam of some sort. I don't want to shatter the plastic on the other side of the door. I tried using a flat wood bit, but because the hole...

Drilling through cavity wall - SDS not going through

UPDATE: Success! I think it was a dodgy switch on the drill. I tried switching it back to normal drill, used it, then put it back to hammer drill and all of a sudden... proper hammer action! Got through it quickly. Man it gets bloody hot in the loft in this weather!

Drilling through cavity wall - SDS not going through

Silly question, is the hammer action obvious? I've not had a drill like this before.

Drilling through cavity wall - SDS not going through

Thanks for the responses guys. I've tried two holes in different places, I'll try a third next to a hole I've already made. My drill doesn't have a reverse setting. I wasn't that clear in the original post, I can get through the first set of blocks, through the insulation, then I can't get...

Drilling through cavity wall - SDS not going through

Hello. I'm trying to drill through a wall in my loft, from inside to outside, so that I can feed CCTV cabling (eaves too narrow for the cables). I am drilling with an SDS drill and drillbit. I can get through the first layer fine, but then I hit something that the drill just won't get through...

Patio fading, how to match with new patio?

I've had my patio extended with the same slabs (Buff Riven 45x45cm), no pointing, just laid next to each other. It was a new build and the house builder wanted £35 a slab to do it during the build! House was completed in September last year. The original slabs have already faded. Is there a...
