Hi We have a disconnected gas fire set into a chimney breast. We want to remove the fire which was disconnected at the wall by British Gas. We also want the the fireplace blocking up and the wall making good. Are there major issues to be aware of when doing this?

Thank you, Lucid, but … we are not getting all the channels we are used to watching. We have only 10 programmes found via the auto tuning option which are all BBC. No ITV, channel 4 (or Talking Pictures ). Any ideas how to fix this dilemma?

1 Have same aerial socket as in FreddieMercurys twin’ picture; 2 tried retuning; 3 found the input button on the remote and set it to DTV - retuned again and hey presto! Thanks everyone for the time you spent helping me!

It’s quite heavy looking, flat (ie no relief effects) and in some rooms there is a degree of sheen on the paper. I wonder how paint will adhere to the sheen effect.

Would any particular type of paint be preferable? Or would we need a primer of any sort first? very keen to get this right. thanks.

We have a Vado shower with thermostatic controller which has become stuck after about a year with no use. Is there a reasonable fix I can do myself (WD 40 springs to mind) or do I need a plumber? As always, any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

We have a Vado shower with a rainfall shower head. Every so often the hard water deposits clog the holes and I descale it - till the next time. Thinking I would attempt a longer lasting remedy, I took the whole shower head completely apart and soaked everything in descaler for several hours...
