    Floor adhesive consistency

Definitely not adding too much water that is for sure.:giggle: Always used to remember if getting atrowel full would slide off just like a brick mortar does/should.

    Floor adhesive consistency

Temperature is fine room is always above 10 deg C. Mapei, Bal and Topps have all said adding more is not detrimental to performance. So am going with how it looks to me. Laid about 5 sqm and all seems fine.

    Floor adhesive consistency

Just started to floor a kitchen with tiles and found adhesive consistency all a bit off. Been years since I tiled a floor but as far as I can recall the adhesive consistancy was shall I say more sloppy. I began by using a Mapei adhesive mixing to correct amounts 5.2L -5.6L per 20kg bag. Heck...

Lifting Karndean is removing self levelling compound, is this normal

Or a damned good glue was used. I know in my place the top thin screed/ self levelling is at max 3mm deep so if not bonded very well would probably not take much upward force to remove it.

Lifting Karndean is removing self levelling compound, is this normal

I have got same lifting a glue down vinyl, small patches of what looks like self levelling sticking to some of underside of vinyl. Have got all vinyl and adhesive off using mixture of heat gun, Goo Gone glue remover and a good scraper. Just need missing areas filling in. Not sure whether to use...

    Patching concrete floor

I have a kitchen floor that was covered by stick down vinyl. I intended to put laminate over this but the floor is anything but level so am going to again use glued vinyl, more on that in a minute. As the units have been moved the old vinyl did not cover a sufficient area. So up cam the old...

    Laminate direction

Have used Quickstep in the past and I too found it to be good stuff with an audible satifying click when engaged, unless this B&Q stuff. That will be going back tomorrow. Have had to decide that laminate is out and I need some sort of good quality glue down vinyl. Spent all yesterday getting up...

    Laminate direction

Might all have been a pointless exercise. The laminate I have got, from B&Q, is pretty dire, not cheap either. Tried to fit a few pieces as to how they looked, in each direction, step on them and the end lips break off:mad: So will be going back. So am now looking at a stick down thick vinyl...

    Extension radiator tail parallel thread.

I might go for a belt and braces 577 with 55 as well. Normally 577 is good to go on its own but it is the thread being parallel which is the problem.

    Extension radiator tail parallel thread.

I have a couple of rads that are going to get covers hence I need the trv to be outside the cover. This then needs a elongated tail. The 2 I have bought have parallel threads as opposed to the normal tapered thread. I use Loctite 577 on tails but on these 2 parallel treads there is movement...

    Y plan to S plan

Attached is a photo. Now I must have been having one of those moments as I was concerned that trying to undo the fitting at A would be awkward whereas I suppose I could undo it at B and go from there.

    Y plan to S plan

As stated my main worry is the compression fitting on the pipe going into the HW coil. There is little room for manoeuvre to get a spanner in so that the fitting in the tank does not get strained. Suppose I will have to bite the bullet and give it a go.

    Y plan to S plan

Have thought for a while to swap my Y plan to an S plan as the 3 port valve is playing up. I have the 2 port valves so no problem there. My question concerns the need to remove the 3 port valve a fit a copper T piece, mine is done in 28mm. I am wondering could I not leave the body of the 3 port...

    Peninsular kitchen cabinets

Attached are a couple of photos to better show the units concerned. My question revolves around the affixing of said units to the concrete kitchen floor. I have read that one does not need to affix the sheer weight of the setup will be sufficient. On that I am not convinced especially at the end...
