The lounge window is as bad as all the upstairs windows yet the kitchen/dining room and utility are fine.

Ah no I meant the seal on the outside of the windows is in poor condition. I’m just waiting for the bad weather here to improve before I have it redone. I was just wondering whether that could be the cause of it.

My windows appear to have damp patches internally running down both sides as in the picture. The white silicone seal around the windows is old. Do you think the picture looks like wet as a result of the white silicone not being weather tight?

No all the boards and old insulation had to be taken out as they were damp/wet and starting to rot away.

Yeah I don’t think that is anything to do with the condensation. I think that’s prob because the white silicone sealant round the windows needs redoing and is letting in rain or damp. would that be adding to my condensation problem do you think? I’m just waiting for the weather to improve...

That’s the lounge and a lot of the bedrooms are like that around the inside of the windows. That’s why I was wondering whether it might have something to do with the external white silicone that seals the windows in?

The plumber that changed my radiators and services my boiler said it was a one pipe and that they generally aren’t as good as two pipe but he thought I would be ok with it. I just can’t seem to get upstairs very warm but the radiators are quite big.

They have the 1-6 numbered valve things on. Sorry I’m not technical at all lol.

Woody, what would you recommend I run the heating at then as with it being such a cold house the heating never reaches a comfortable level. When I moved in I had all the radiators replaced but it is only a one pipe system. Not sure what that means but the plumber said that one pipe systems...

I open the windows for a while each day but as the house doesn’t maintain heat at all it’s absolutely freezing with the windows closed never mind when they’re open. We have a combi boiler and just put the heating on when we are desperate as it would run all day but as soon as the heating goes...

There doesn’t seem to be any condensation in the loft itself. The reason I ask about the white seal around the windows is because it looks damp on the inside. I’ll post a pic

I think it’s timber frame. We had the condensation on the windows before the new roof and new loft insulation but it’s even worse now. the loft insulation is 100mm base layer and 200mm top layer. I bought the house October 2019 and prior to that it had been empty for 3 years as the old lady...
