I'm not sure why they fitted a 40-80 pump. The pipework is about 1inch or 1inch and a quarter either side of the pump.

The boiler isn't a condensing boiler as its about 15 years old. One last question would a 15-60 pump head be interchangeable with a 40-80 head. I hope so as the body of the 40-80 is completely different to the 15-60 body, that is the thread is a completely different design.

If I took the replacement head off the new grundfos 40-80 3 phase pump and put it onto the old pump body could I then incorporate the old electric onto the new pump head so it wasn't 3 phase.
