Advice on how to fit an essex boss

Hi,
I want to fit an essex flange onto a hot water cylinder and I need advice on how to this. Obviously you need to drain the tank but what is the process and how do I drill the tank.

with a hole saw the instructions are in the packet with the flange

I use a holesaw of the size indicated in the fitting instructions.

Usually the instructions included are pretty good.

Personally, I like to read the instructions and use a hole saw to drill in accordance with the size indicated
