    pull switch alternative

Hi, What I meant by not being able to piece into the extractor cord was that I wanted a light switch independent of the extractor/shower light unit, so as to be able to use the en-suite without switching this unit on. I like the infra red switch Idea, a bit like PIR. Maybe I should just put...

    power shower fan and light

Maybe I could carry on to the extractor from the shower then continue the loop into the ring, effectively taking them both from the ring circuit. mmmm

    air admittance valve

Thanks chris n nige, Have u had any experience with hep valves??, are they reliable??. Still thinking a vent up to the loft is a feasible solution. I suppose teed off waste terminating in an insect guard would do, as long as its above spill over level ?? Dunno, bit confused, dont want the 'home...

    air admittance valve

I am running 6m of waste from en suite basin and shower, I have been advised to put air admittance valve near basin to avoid siphonage etc. What size in length and bore would this have to be ??, can it terminate in loft space directly above ??. It seems a 110mm air admittance valve used on soil...

    power shower fan and light

Ok, What about this one. Can I power my extractor/light and power shower all from the ring main spur via the same pull cord switch ??. I know usually one comes off the lighting circuit for extractors, but as a switch is needed for both power shower and extractor I was wondering about combining...

    Power shower on combi

Apologies for this much discussed topic. However as I am fitting a power shower to my gravity fed system, would if be feasable to use it in future if I install a combi, I was thinking I could disable it at the fused spur and let it run as a standard unboosted mixer. Mmmm

    En-suite waste

Thanks for that. Must forgive me as I'm learning on the job so to speak. Just to clarify, will this valve allow me to run the 6 metre waste pipe to the soil stack ? Is there a maximum lentgh of pipe that can be run across an exterior wall ?

    En-suite waste

I'm intending to install an en suite shower and hand basin. The waste run to soil stack works out at around 6m with a 90 degree bend in the middle. As far as I know 40mm waste is restricted to 3m runs, 50mm to 4m. What on earth is the solution apart from not doing it ???
