Hi,
I want to install a couple of LED lights via a switch in my bedroom. These LEDs are designed to run from a plug. The transformer, 240 to12v is integrated into the plug. I wanted to chase these lights in then piece up a switch. Will this work with the transformer permanently plugged in. I guess it would be better to piece into lighting circuit with a dedicated transformer.Mmm, any suggestions?

do not use a different transformer. That tranny you have converts to DC. Normal "halogen type" trannies convert to AC. If you're going off the lighting circuit, install the switch BEFORE the transformer. Use the switch to power a normal 3-pin plug in the loft / floor space and plug the tranny into this.
