should the Flat Cu be in the flat and accessible though??? Its in shops at minute

Should a shop which has a flat above have both CUs in the shop fed from 1 main fuse, but with two meters and two boards? I think that it would be against regs as what if needed to isolate circuit when shop was closed? What if mcb tripped out how could turn back on? Opinions appreciated!

If a dwelling does not have CPCs on lighting circuits, installed before 1966, can the circuits be extended to add more lights or does earths have to be added to the circuits?

Been to a house today which seems to be supplied with 16mm earth from next door! It has no clamp for TN-S or no PME supply. Would it cost for supply company to supply an earth or is it a case of putting a clamp on the lead sheath of supply cable, which indicates to me it was a TN-S at some time...

so just leave blank then???

At top of tests page it asks for details of distrubution circuit (Meter tails) but what boxes can be filled in for them apart from description, wiring method, conductor size and IR? Do yopu just leave rest blank?

Is that what you do? Do you fill these in for NICEIC? Do you think the forms are a little over the top?

But it dosn't have one, this is the only CU, most domestic only have 1 cu, so do you just enter 1 or summit like that?

Are the plastic fronts in the busbar normally easy to remove to see if there's any object bridging between the two phases?

Will an Ir test between phases with MCBs/RCBOs off tell if fault between phases on basbar? If there is is it a case of replacing or is it easy to open up and repair/remove foriegn object?

On Niceic EIC it says designation of consumer unit, what is written in there? Its the 1st time i'm filling one in thats all

Why u ask yellow n red?

Its a merlin gerin. it had stands of copper from 10mm cable between screw on busbar and mcb so used the same when swapped for rcbo, do you reckon one of the strands may of fell and arched across phases? It was between red and yellow, why did you ask?
