Junction box between fused spur and single electric oven.

I am replacing my old single electric oven with a new one and am connecting the new cable into a circular plastic junction box to the wire which comes from the existing fused spur. However, although the original work was done by a professional company I have to say I am a bit surprised...

    Plastic Ridge System.

I was persuaded to change my traditional ridge tiles for a dry plastic 'rigible' system(whatever that is). One has blown off already after about 7 months and I am a bit scared I have been 'had'. Although the single ridge has blown off and in spite of torrential rain, no water seems to have come...

Hi again...this job is driving me batty. I am replacing the element (grill/upper oven) to my Baumatic BT built-in oven which is all of 8 years old!!! There are five spade connectors and I have fed the wires inside the cooker to these. However the original heat-resistant plastic shrouds have...

    heat resistant connector covers..resin nowadays???

This is an extension of my problem with my built-in oven and replacing the grill/upper element. The job has gone well but on removing the 5 connectors to the knackered element the little plastic heat resistant covers had become brittle and they broke off. My gas fire goes 'put-put-put'

Ok folks...now you've stopped laughing at my title for this post..and no jokes about little scooters or mopeds being stuck up my chimney please. Joking aside, I had my Valour living room fire serviced by British Gas and I feel they did a reasonable job about 12 weeks ago. However, when I am...

Undoing glued seals/joints in soil pipe.

After a great deal of support and advice I am about to solve my leaking wc pan connector with new modern push-fit stuff. Trouble is that the old pipes have 'glued seals' so I am told. Any ideas how I get them undone or do I saw the old ones??The picture is from above the toilet seat looking...

leaking between P-bend and waste pipe.

Hi all, At the back of my wc there is a connection to the waste (horizontal) which is made via a sort of 'gaiter' or plastic 'sleeve'. The leak is between the gaiter and the soil pipe..there is a sort of flange around the end of the gaiter and the leakage is there. Would I be right in...

Puddles on garage roof like America's Great Lakes!

I recently (Feb 2006) had my flat garage roof re-felted and then finished with solar reflective paint. There was a lot of water not draining off so the gentleman came back and jacked the one side of the roof up a couple of inches. However there are a couple of large puddles still there and I am...
