Right , the ceiling i mentioned in a thread or two back is proving to be more of problem than i first thought. Initially i thought it was artex with linng paper on top of that, but further examination shows that the layer under the coating ( not convinced its lining paper now) whilst textured...

started skimming an area of artex, only to discover it has been covered with lining paper. guess i'll have to get the paper off, then pva. Thoughts anyone

yes its a concrete floor with thin bitumen layer - thanks for the advice ill use combi underlay when i start the project :)

hi im in the planning stage of installing a floating engineered wood floor in my lounge. the floor is level, but covered in a thin layer of bitumen. Will i need to have a DPM or can i get away with just a standard underlay? thanks

hi i've used glass tiles in my bathroom. As far as fixing them, I was advised by the tile shop I bought them from to use a mastic adhesive as they are smooth on the back. i'm interested to hear about cutting them, as I've a cut to do.

Ah me got one of those plaform ladders. So set to this morning, rolled and then laid off - came up a treat. Only took an hour and the only ladder moving was to start further back in room :D .
