    Boiler Modulating Query

Hi Some years back I had a Worcester Bosch 30CDI boiler installed and this was ideal for the size of house and when the family lived at home and for when they all come and visit at Christmas. Now there's just the two of us and we only heat the rooms we use and a hot water tank. Consequently...

    Wiring A Timed Bathroom Fan...

Everyone - thanks for your help. My next steps: 1) Triple pole isolation switch. 2) Contact council and find out exactly what kind of certificate they require.

    Wiring A Timed Bathroom Fan...

Some explanation required. 1) Ericmark - there is an RCD fitted next to my fuse box that covers all circuits in the house. 2) BAS - The bathroom has been extensively altered. I asked a couple of questions on here about the drain from the toilet and was advised that it fell under building...

    Yet Another Bonding Question....

That settles it then a single cable it is. Whats the reason for this by the way as doesn't using a fixed terminal block imply it's not a single continuous run?

    Yet Another Bonding Question....

Just to clarify this, what you are saying Holmslaw is that I mustn't run a cable from the gas connection point to the water connection point and then to the earth but a cable from each of them to a fixed terminal block and then to earth?

    Wiring A Timed Bathroom Fan...

The instructions that came with my bathroom fan (Marley NDX100T) say that it must be isolated with a double pole isolation switch. The wiring diagram shows the pull switch, bathroom lights and fan all isolated with this switch and this is how it has been wired. The instructions are...

    Yet Another Bonding Question....

Thanks Holmslaw, that's what I thought. Looks like my water isn't bonded either. :( The water and gas pipes are relatively close to each other, could I run from the gas to the water and then a single cable to the fuse box or is there a requirement for two cables?

    Yet Another Bonding Question....

Having recently discovered that my gas supply is not bonded I have been investigating just what IS bonded in the house. The house is old and (from what I've read on here) I think my supply is TT, there is an earth spike and an RCD. I have found a bonding connection to my cold water supply...

    Advice Required On Bonding....

Davy - thanks for your reply. The house is fairly old but whilst the wiring seems in good condition the light circuits have no earth so it must be fairly old as well. When I first moved in I had an electrician check things over and he fitted an RCD next to the fuse box that covers all the...

    Advice Required On Bonding....

Hi, I've recently created a shower room and the electrics are being inspected in a couple of days. There are five pipes entering the room, hot water, cold water, central heating flow and return and the shower cold feed from the header tank. Because the floor has been tiled I've bonded...

    House deeds and chickens

OK - the real problem with keeping chickens is that the chickens and their food attracts rats and once they arrive they are very difficult to get rid of. Neighbours tend to notice rats and their first port of call is the rodent control officer at the council. He will look for the cause and if...

The age old tiling on tile question and adhesives

[/url] That's exactly what I did with mine nearly 30 years ago and never had a problem. Of course now I'm think of redoing it, I don't think 3 layers of tiles would be a good idea.

    Plasplug Flatbed Tile Cutter

Had one about four years and it's done me well. Now making a rattling noise and I suspect the bearings are going. Are these things serviceable or should I just get another one?

Some Advice Required Before The Adhesive Sets......

Thanks both. I'm sure you're right and have started again. What I meant about the waste is that with method 1 there is no waste as I am bits from left over cuts for the 50mm. But with method 2 I have 150mm leftover from each cut tile (2 per row) that will end up in the bin.

Some Advice Required Before The Adhesive Sets......

I have a shower in a U shaped cubicle and I'm tiling along the back wall. The back wall is 900mm wide and the tiles are 400mm wide. I decided to have two tiles either side of the centre line and make up the 50mm each side with scrap bits of tiles I have left over. The alternative is a...

Grohe Thermo Shower Mixer with s-coupler....

OK what does this connect up to? I am installing a shower cubicle across the end of a narrow room. I have built two stud partition walls each side making up to the width of the shower. After taking some advice on this forum I am going to line with aquapanel. This will then be tiled over with...
