    Where to source Egger MFC?

Thank you both for your replies, great detail JobandKnock and makes a lot of sense. Thing that bothers me is when they offer the cutting service on the website and then say they don't even without knowing I'm not trade! Anyway, hopefully found a solution...Avon Plywood have said they will...

    Where to source Egger MFC?

Hi, I'm trying to find somewhere that will supply me 15mm egger ferrara oak mfc in the Bristol area. Ideally I'd also like it cut so that its 2000 x 14000. I've tried lathams but they don't have cutting on site and they only have 18mm. I've tried Panel Co but despite their website saying...

    Musty Smell from under floor

Hi all, We have original wooden floorboards in our lounge (victorian terrace) and our old cat has peed in the corner which has leaked through to the joists and the void underneath into the earthy/ rubble stuff. I've thrown one floorboard away and have treated the surrounding area with all...

    halogen downlights & fire guards

I think I probably didn't give enough information in the original question first time round but suffice to say condesation won't be an issue. Thanks for the advice

    halogen downlights & fire guards

thanks but there's not much hot air down there so shouldn't need to worry. The room was originally a bathroom but I moved the bath/ shower upstairs so now it's just a (at the moment very cold!) utility room with a washing machine and wc. thanks

    halogen downlights & fire guards

    halogen downlights & fire guards

I have a downstairs bathroom extension with halogen downlights fitted by the previous owner. There is a lot of heat lost out/ cold air let in through the roof cavity and I want to lay more insulation so I've bought some fireguards from screwfix...

    ecotec pump issue?

I've got an ecotec plus 831 combi boiler - about 5 years old I think - that has developed a nasty clunking noise either when the on demand hot water is on or at other random times (CH is fully off at the moment) which I think is when it's keeping the temp constant. Before I start dismantling...

Draining and refilling combi CH - checking steps

ok thanks guys! so I WON'T touch the dump valve  hmm interesting tho as a couple of engineers have both used that to drain the boiler when doing other work on it (fitting replacement pressure sensor see //www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=160809) Also where someone recommends...

Draining and refilling combi CH - checking steps

wow thanks for the quick responses guys! ok, so I won't bother isolating the CH. I thought I could do that in case I needed/ wanted to use hot water while I'm doing this. So just switch off entirely instead. Sorry Bengasman, I knew I'd get the terminology wrong...I meant the radiator in...

    Question/ clarification on re-pressurising boiler

On #2 of the FAQ: //www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=37170 it mentions that it is How do you ensure this? Also, I had a problem back in Feb this year with the expansion vessel: //www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=166428 I should have posted the fix but never got...

Draining and refilling combi CH - checking steps

Hi, I need to replace a couple of radiator valves and want to check on the steps I need to do for draining and refilling the system. I've done a bit of research but want to double-check. On my lowest placed rad (towel rail style if relevant) which is also installed as a 'stub' off the main...

    More Valliant Ecotec problems...F.22

I've had a look at the expansion vessel and when I take the cap off the valve, there's a slight hissing noise coming from the valve which seems to indicate a leak. This can't be normal can it? I imagine when the cap goes back on it bocks the leak but the cap's not going to be airtight.

    More Valliant Ecotec problems...F.22

Thanks for the tip. Don't have a pump that fits or a guage - thought about getting one today in case it was that. Oh well, better invest in that for the next time. Think for the moment will call out an engineer but one question...as the sensor failed in Dec, the pressure was checked I think...

    More Valliant Ecotec problems...F.22

We have an ecotec plus 831 that recently has been giving us problems. We had an F.75 error in Dec and replaced the pressure sensor but the engineer who came out thought there may be a problem with the expansion vessel. Since then it has been working ok but this morning we had an F.22 (dry...

    Another Ecotec problem!

one thing i would like to ask is whether I should ask for a refund from the original callout as I don't think that the diagnosis was appropriate for the time taken and should i report the colmpany to valliant? thanks

    Another Ecotec problem!

well it ended that an engineer came out and replaced the sensor. He also checked over a couple of other areas inc the expansion tank and thinks there may still be a problem here. Either way the initial problem is resolved so thanks to you both very much for your help and time.

    Another Ecotec problem!

Thanks for the replies. Realised why no water going in....both stop valves on the cold water and ch flow were closed (d'oh) so have filled it a little - just so it was showing 0.6. There was slight hissing coming from the expansion vessel air valve but that stopped. Switched on boiler and...
