    grind the end square then try to get an edge using water to cool the blade every 10 sec or so ,if the edge of the chissel goes black repeat the process again :(

    yep or hire 1 and get it lintels are a little unforgiving and come with steel reinforcing bars so if you lose the head of the drill most likely you hit a bar (move your hole :) if your drilling into a steel lintel you would know by the sound and the fact nothings moving

    failing that the good old method of a piece of paper against the wall and drawing the pitch onto that and getting a protractor to work , a roofer would have a roofing bevel that shows you the angle in degrees on the inside edge

    ok so heres my problem ,iv replaced a normal hanging bayonet type fitting with a low voltage spotlight its on when i put the fuse back in but wont turn off ,its turning to about half the brightness when on any ideas plz
