Help with re-glazing an old door.

Thanks for replies. Understood that glazing tape is tough stuff and it is secure to use it from the inside. The door is 45mm so possibly not enough room for a thin insulated unit at 18, but the ideas for flush beading, or a home-made cavity gap are good.

Help with re-glazing an old door.

Thanks for taking a look. Routing is no problem (I manufacture router bits). My question is just, is fixing the glass from inside asking for trouble. Modern doors have glass fitted from outside.

Help with re-glazing an old door.

Hi There, I'd like to refurbish my old front door instead of replacing it. I plan on taking out the thin 4mm glass. Machining the rebates deeper and replacing with modern sealed glass units. Currently the glass is mounted from the inside and held in place with putty. Is this method...

    sorting out an old floor

thanks for the replies. After taking out the bricks today i think I've go my head around this job. Perfect solution would be to take up everything, including the old slab and replace all in one go with an insulated slab. As the existing slab has been there a while, and there doesn't...

    sorting out an old floor

Outer walls have a bitumen damp proof course. Nothing that I can see under the slab. That is a much bigger job to remove the whole floor, and replace with a different style.

    sorting out an old floor

Hi All, I'm hoping for some advice here. We have a 1910 house, and have just had a builder take down an internal wall and replace it with steels. We now have a big room, but the floor needs attention. Half the floor is now a concrete slab, and the other half is a mix of brick, and no...

    four flute router bits

The feed rate is a bit slower the more blades you add. But the shavings tend to be much finer.

    four flute router bits

Balancing quality and price has been a challenge. We are making a reduced margin relative to the well known brands. And roughly pricing it the same as their 2 blade professional bits. - We are at the same quality with more cutting surfaces!

    four flute router bits

Hi there; I have just started a very small company selling 4 flute router bits! We started out from the frustration of bits not lasting long enough or giving a poor finish. So we designed and manufactured some of our own! I know advertising is not allowed on the forums. But I'd really...

    Question for all Kitchen fitters.

Thanks for the interest The oak is American, and at the moment 2m is the longest we can get hold of at the quality we want. We are looking for longer lengths. Only the cornice, and two lower mouldings would be joined. So no cabinetry work needed by the fitter. The cabinets themselves...

    Question for all Kitchen fitters.

Hi, I've designed a solid oak kitchen for the mass market in the UK. This will be mid priced and extremely competitive for solid oak. It is made to look like it is custom made so there are 3 mouldings that are added after initial fit. My question is; Are kitchen fitters confident in...

Yes, thanks very much for the sarcastic comments. Very useful. I'll try flex grout first, then see how that goes.

Schoolboy error, how to fix grout cracking?

Hello, Just finished tiling my bathroom and realised my mistake too late!! The floor is tiled on timber floorboards with a sheet of ply on top. The adhesive is wickes wall & floor adhesive, with no flexible additive. The grout is normal too. Problem is the grout has now cracked. Can I...

    Bathroom light spur & ring

Hi, Last weekend i changed the old single bathroom light for spotlights. -( 4 x 11 watt energy saving, which are excellent). I found that the old ceiling rose had the two ring wires, light switch, shaver socket wire, & extractor fan wire! This is against the rule of 1 spur off of a ring...

    Bathroom extractor fan died!

Ive got a bathroom extractor fan that vents through a vertical pipe that sits on the fan and goes out through the roof. Trouble is that the condensation collects on the duct and runs down back onto the fan. This is what has killed it i think. -Are any ceiling fans designed against this...
