Amtico bevelled tiles - how should I grout?

Pity. I kind of hoped there might be a product out there to prevent dirty grooves... They are indeed Amtico so I suppose it's hands knees and a toothbrush. :(

Grubby Amtico tile joints - how can I renovate?

I have metallic-look Amtico tiles, not sure of the type, but their edges have a slight bevel which after a few years is looking very black - part shadow, part trapped dirt. I've heard that grout isn't that successful, could anyone tell me a suitable solution other than scraping tile by tile &...

Painting a bare wooden floor for a whitewash effect?

That sounds like it may be quicker. I had at one point thought maybe a coat of diluted white undercoat, then polyurethane varnish on top? Or would that fail?

Painting a bare wooden floor for a whitewash effect?

Interesting - how do you do this? I've not heard of it. Sounds quick, which is what I need!

Painting a bare wooden floor for a whitewash effect?

Any advice or suggestions please? I've belt-sanded the floorboards in a small bedroom back to mostly clean bare wood (planks are a little uneven so a few smoothed but darker spots). I want to get a white-ish, washed out effect with hopefully not too much effort! Due to work I can only fit...

Hotpoint Aquarius WMF760 paddle - how does it fit???

thanks. i tried that but it ripped the paddle. BUT - have just found the old broken one and it is much harder & thicker plastic. so it seems the 'genuine' spare part I bought is not!

Hotpoint Aquarius WMF760 paddle - how does it fit???

yes, the tab is raised and is supposed to act as a lock. but i cannot physically slide the paddle on with this raised - it is in the way. if I lower it first then is not high enough to act as a lock. ???

Hotpoint Aquarius WMF760 paddle - how does it fit???

yes, they're intact, it's just the issue of sliding the paddle againt a sharp tab pointing at right angles to the direction of push. Too flat & it doesn't grab, too high & it cuts the plastic, The online videos I've found only show models where the tab quite logically points in the direction...

Hotpoint Aquarius WMF760 paddle - how does it fit???

I did. It slid back off. So I raised the flap slightly more & tried again. It was harder to fit but with gentle persuasion (certainly gentler than a full load spinning at 1600 rpm) it slid back off :(

Hotpoint Aquarius WMF760 paddle - how does it fit???

I'm slowly losing the plot. I have genuine Hotpoint/Indesit part C00065463 drum lifter. The locking tab bends sideways so I have to push it down to slot the paddle in, but how do I lift it back up? It's now under the paddle!! I simply cannot see how to do this, unless there is a special...

Feedback for Mitsubishi split aircon SRK25ZJS ?

cheers. might not be as good as Daikin but all quotes so far mention biannual service contracts to keep it in warranty! and I just want on/off switch. my souh facing office a/c is permanently on full, at 18C. none of yer fancy timers & autogubbins. Simples. here's link...

Help sought in stripping an old indoor aircon unit

Sorry to butt in - OP here. Daikin sent me a diagram - coil seems to need removing or at least levering out of way - either way I risk causing a leak so will leave to experts. If I can find one London!

Help sought in stripping an old indoor aircon unit

Update - they had a proper engineer in to have a look. He advises unit can't be cleaned and as it uses R22 it's banned anyway so they must have new units. So one more (perhaps dumb) question. Is it possible to remove R22 & replace with R410 in such an old unit?

Help sought in stripping an old indoor aircon unit

Indeed, it is a split unit & the the fan cylinder is behind the evaporator, can't see a way to remove it. Seems odd that it would be designed so that you have to degas the system just to remove a dirty fan?!
